Come on - Jokic is amazing, I think I am inline on most things - seems to be developing players - is where I mostly see things differently - sometimes I am right, sometimes wrong. Just a difference of opinion - I didn't like what KPJ did in the locker room, but 30 years ago, no one would know, and I hate social media it is killing fandom....so I mostly ignore that stuff, and just look at on floor talent and where it looks to be going.... DD
You were not AS fully insane with the kpj stuff as someone like apache but you were pretty close, you gotta admit. Remember all the kpj is like young harden or kpj is better then Brunson and all that
KPJ's talent is not in question, Lebron, K. Love, Dame all talked about it - it is in his head he has issues. He was the ONLY Rocket player that could get anywhere on the floor he wanted and get his own shot, and at 22 that was special......so I looked for what I saw as he developed and I saw an all star player - if he held the mental bit together - which honestly most guys do as they mature......but some are always crazy - Rasheed Wallace, Ron Artest, Rodman, Draymond etc....but are still somewhat successful....so I figured he would have a long career and make a few all star teams as a baseline. Now, though, with his current troubles I think he is on his very last chance.....and some guys just can't get over their demons.....Isaiah Rider for instance, Terrance WIlliams..... So we shall see, but as for talent, I think he has a very high ceiling ON THE FLOOR - but whether he remains on it, is the 6" between his ears. DD
Some of His dribble drives to the paint always seemed so much harder than they should have been as he didn’t hit the holes and creases quickly or split defenders etc. He often took the longer route ending up at a weird angle just outside the paint or outside the restricted area as he launched up short jumpers 5-8 ft away.
KPJ had talent but I believe it’s inaccurate to say he could “get any shot he wanted”. He was not as explosive off the dribble and couldn’t get to the paint and score as easily as Green or the better scoring guards in the league. His paint shots were further out and at weird angles in positions he put himself in 5-8 ft away from the restricted area.
yup, it was the classic definition of doing a lot and going nowhere and then ending up with a inefficient shot. Only 2 players I can think of can play like that Harden and Kyrie.
To be fair KPJ had a better pullup jumper than Green but he did shoot a little less pullups than Green.
At 33% career for 3 years behinf the arc One wirh Worst.fg% among starters He can miss from anywhere i give u that lol
The discussion was about KPJ’s scoring ability and I specifically talked about his paint scoring deficiencies not perimeter shooting.
Anyway, now that everyone has had their say about Voldermort....AGAIN - and tried to distract a thread ....AGAIN.......let's talk about BBall IQ To me, it is as important as skills or athleticism - you can have skills and BBall IQ and low athleticism and still get to star level - Larry Bird, Jokic etc..... but when you get all 3 - you have a potential superstar. So if you agree that the Rox have 3 High BBall IQ players in: Amen, Reed, and Sengun. Each IMHO has 2 of the 3. Amen - Athleticsim, BBall IQ, Skill(Shooting) is lacking Sengun - Bball IQ, Skill, athleticsism is lacking Reed - BBall IQ, Skill, Good but not Great athlete So, we may not have a SUPERStar player yet, or we have 3 guys that can get there......we just have to see.....also, if Cam's BBall IQ is as high as I think it is , he might get there as well, but right now he has only shown flashes.
