Hill Dog. If they are going to put forward a ticket without voting on it, why not let Clinton have another crack at it?
Look for someone who the Democrats believe is highly competent at getting things done. You can't put a DEI hire next to someone who's not a do-er. That's like having two show horses and no work horses.
My best guess is that Kamala selects Josh Shapiro (PA governor). If the Ds can carry PA, Trump's path to victory becomes so much more narrow. Michigan, Wisconsin and Pennsylvania are the Blue Wall states. If Kamala wins the Blue Wall states, it is game over for Trump. BTW, I bet the Ds also win Arizona. FFS what were the Rs thinking when they ran Kari Lake for Senator? Arizona may also have an Pro Abortion ballot initiative in 2024, which would be the final nail in the R coffin.
If the Republicans take PA they take the election, even if AZ, NV, MI, and WI all go blue. For that reason alone I think they have to go with Shapiro. PA is just too critical to leave it as a jump ball. Edit: Putting a cherry on it.. the only way Dems win if they lose PA is if they sweep NV, AZ, WI, MI *and* flip GA or NC. That's just not happening.
Beshear. I saw a video segment in which he more or less treated Vance as merely a summer tourist in Kentucky and Appalachia.
Kelly is only 8 months older than Harris. Regardless, I think the math dictates the play is Shapiro. PA is make or break. Everything rides on it.
Ideally, you should analyze your performance in each swing state and optimize based on that data. Biden's numbers might not be very useful since his significant gap compared to a typical Democratic candidate might not reflect how Harris would perform. For instance, in Arizona, he had a 7-point gap compared to the Democratic Senate candidate. Tough call.
Shapiro is also a bulldog. She has many good options. I might not take Kelly because you would be removing a dem senate seat. Big Gretch would be awesome.
Not quite. If Dems lose PA, they need GA or NC, plus MI, and 2 out of these 3: NV, AZ, WI. Still, PA is the most likely tipping point state. But it could also come down to AZ or WI.
I'm starting to lean towards it being Tim Walz. I didn't think he would play well with the rest of the country but he's done very well in recent appearances. I don't think it will be Kelly or any Senator given how close the Senate is.
