I've done that drill. It was with the assailant with a knife from 20' unobstructed and the defender with a holstered pistol. This isn't that case at all as the assailant is armed with a pot of boiling water and there is a counter in between while the defender already has a pistol drawn and aimed.

Again though I've never done the experiment that I described. I'm tempted to try it this weekend in my backyard with one of my students.

 

Because she said "I rebuke you in the name of Jesus" twice to a police officer while holding something that could cause grave bodily harm to them.

That's why the gun was drawn, anyway. Why it was fired we will never know because the video doesn't show.

No, she was shot for reasons we will never know because there is no video of it.

The officers pulled their weapons because of her words and actions, justifiably so.

 

explain this then. granted I don't think they should have been in the house and they also escalated while there, but she threw it:

good point about that, plus everyone was pent up inside for almost three months by that point. basically all riots have been due to built up incidences not being handled properly.

 

She was not throwing the water... she was shot and she dropped the water.. So the original video that @Reeko posted showed the woman duck down when the officers pulled their weapons...

The main officer was on the other side of the counter and then he moves in front of the officer who has position (the one with the cam on) and then shoots at the woman again...

You can spill all the BS you want.. There was no reason for him to kill that woman...

Good find. Thanks for posting. We were all led to believe the shooter's camera was turned off.

Going through it frame by frame, it looks as if she is in the process of standing up and is throwing the water. She could be holding the pot up as a shield, but I think it's less likely based on what I see.

I'm annoyed that there is no audio. Hard to tell when the shots happen.

Oh I 100% agree there was no reason for him to kill her, but she does come up throwing the water IMO. not enough at all to justify shooting her considering the environment and circumstances, but she threw it.

 

you have to understand not everyone is religious, or believes the same things as you. growing up in the Black baptist church, when I'd hear people say that it was because they were essentially saying "this bad thing over here don't come near me and if you do it'll be in the Lord's hands". that thing could be anything, a disease, a person, a situation, etc. if you aren't religious or if someone is saying that to you, I can see how one might take it as a threat. you have to understand perspective here but you have a hard time with that.

The officer shot twice while he was behind the counter and then move in front of her and shot again.. . She basically dropped the pot when she was shot.

Sure looks like she's standing up and hurling the water towards the officer in the video Scarface posted.

As far as I can tell shots don't actual happen on camera, only after the officer's arm obscures our view of her, by which point the water is already on its way.

SchizophreniaSchizophreniaSchizophreniaIt seems so incredibly odd that she would attack the officers that way, but given she was suffering from schizophrenia it makes a lot more sense that she could have been seeing or hearing any number of things to cause her to lash out, fear for her life, or act in any erratic manner.

She might have stood up to lower the pot to the ground. You can see in Grayson's cam that Massey had crouched to the ground not holding the pot. The pot was on the counter. Yet both officers were yelling at the woman to 'drop the ****ing pot' up to the moment she was shot. She might've been reaching for the pot to drop it.

I think the video also show that Massey was dumping out the hot water in the sink. So Grayson should've known that it was at most a pot being thrown at him, not hot water.

Here's the shooter's cam with a few more seconds before and after the shot. Still no audio though.
