I think fumbling the bag is a Democratic specialty, but technically this was Trump's race to lose last week so who knows.

Trump didn't really say that. But he did say, and I'm paraphrasing, that he heard about Musk giving him $45 million a month. He said he loves Musk and don't we all love him, the best and the brightest, and all that kissing up. He proceeded to call Musk, but Musk didn't mention that he was giving him $45 million. Really, the story here is that Trump kisses up to anyone giving him money; he will sell out for some dough.

Now that Musk has clarified, 'nope' (he's also being dishonest, as he's working on a PAC to give Trump money), his clarification might be self-serving. Tesla took another beating, and he might just start realizing that being attached to Trump isn't good for business and is trying to distance himself.

Here's an interesting article on why the attacks are just not landing.

The Kamala Harris coconut tree meme, explained as best we can : NPR

    ...

One man's gaffe is another man's meme
From the coconut trees to the Venn diagrams, the Harris memes embrace what detractors might consider a gaffe. Trump, for instance, has dubbed Harris "laughing Kamala," saying the laugh makes her seem "crazy."

Take another example, which grew out of one of Harris's go-to lines dating back to her 2020 presidential run: “I can imagine what can be, unburdened by what has been.”

The RNC compiled a supercut of Harris being "unburdened" and shared it on social media, arguing that it shows she is “unoriginal, annoying, and highly incompetent.” But the attacks aren’t sticking, as her supporters have taken ownership of the line and the laughter.

Jennings said it’s reminiscent of the critiques hurled at Trump throughout his political career, only to be welcomed by his base.

“People like the fact that he was saying offensive things,” Jennings said. "And I think it's strange for Republicans to kind of now be on the other end of that – which is making all these, you know, memes and videos of Kamala being goofy and quirky and the left being like, “Hell, yeah, brother.”

Good article. This is what has transpired so far. The attacks go from ineffective circlejerking to downright backfire material.

I'm really disappointed in Republicans. I thought Kamala would be torn to shreds (in hilarious fashion) but so far it's just Republicans shooting themselves in the dick.

It all goes back to the head of the snake, right? The Democrats were moribund with Biden as their leader: incoherent, uninspiring, and banking on yesterday's inertia. Now they're energized, (relatively) youthful, and optimistic about the future.

The GOP is a cult of personality led by the most noxious personification of baby boomer id imaginable. All they have are childish insults, derogatory comments and generalizations, and grievance because that is all Trump is. They cannot make a coherent argument because Trump can't. They cannot inspire because Trump can't. They cannot effectively target Harris because Trump can't. He swings wildly between rage, incoherence, crass humor, and anti-intellectualism and the party follows in lock-step. He's been rewarded his entire life for being an undisciplined pig and the party he controls has adopted his persona.

Leadership matters in direct and indirect ways. The Republican party has hitched its wagon to a disgusting liar that most Americans ****ing hate. He will never win a popular vote and has cost them in three straight election cycles. He's a leader who gives his followers permission to be the worst version of themselves and see the worst in others. But his mandate for leadership has always been a fluke and he cannot present a forward-thinking, optimistic vision for America because that is not who he is.

It's like a bunch of "morning in America" Reaganite boomers became embittered at how their policies didn't work out for the vast majority of people and, in their final act, are lashing out at everyone else via Trump, giving us all the middle finger as their political funeral dirge marches onward.

LOL, Trump has substance and winning policy. Trump is a fighter who has withstood years of vicious Democrat attacks by the media, legal system, and now a shooter. Kamala is the DEI-hire with no accomplishments or credentials who has been treated with kid gloves her entire political career.

Lol, thanks for proving his point.

Trump's accomplishments = triggering the libs

    Kamala = DEI c*cksucker

Put that on a bumpersticker and you're golden.

Trump and the alt right acolytes (read any @basso @AroundTheWorld @tinman or @Os Trigonum post) inaugurated an era of "LOL Nothing matters!!" nihlism.

In the past, I'd be like "oh let's respond point by point on why Venn diagrams are in fact GOOD!" whereas now, given the much discussed state of the republican party - if you can even call it that, rather than a personality cult around the syphilitic emperor - the appropriate response is along the lines of "b****, please!" and then just move on to the next thing.

"Laughing Kamala" is a weird attack. Every ounce of energy they use mocking her for laughing too much instead of for being too liberal is a win for democrats.

Kamalalala Harris is a lazy, unintelligent DEI hire who only got her job because she gave blowjobs to that gang leader who ran the city. She laughs too much and looks ugly when she laughs! We're going to put knee pads in the white house for her! Nasty woman.

Oh...and why do democrats make things about race and gender????????

Let me get this straight - People actually thought MSM turning on Biden was natural and organic? And the Democrats and the media would continue to stay in disarray, or another way to put it, they wouldn't rally around Harris? The same media and Democrats for months on end said Biden was sharp as a tack behind closed doors?

Someone should make a supercut of Trump laughing.

It would be terrifying. Does he authentically laugh?

It basically means she's inauthentic. And not Presidential. Both true.
