That's not a high hurdle at all. It's be disappointed if he wasn't better than Jalen day one. I mean, that's not even saying he's going to be a good player.
True. Also true: after game 2 defenses keyed on him because the rest of the team was Filipino league. He looked gassed out there and was definitely bothered by physical guards on the perimeter. He made a lot of good passes that were off by inches or off hands - we arent talking Jalen style dribbling with butterfingers or Lin style jumping with nowhere to go, although he definitely got stripped a couple of times by ball pressure. He has a lot of growing to do but had almost no catch and shoot posessions like his college games. But there were a lot of promising signs in the way he adapted as well as he did. He's definitely a versatile and cerebral player and that projects well.
I would say Jalen is a better ball handler and it's pretty obvious. I wish all the powers of Reed, Jalen and Amen combined into one player. 6'8 Ja Morant with Steve Nash shooting and vision. GOAT.
I would be intrigued to say the least......dude was said to be one of the highest floor guys, and if he can raise that ceiling to above the standard of this draft......that is all one can ask.
They were discussing Sheppard this morning on NBA RADIO and Scalabrine was saying he was very surprised how good he played. He expected him to play good, but was better than advertised coming out of UK.
Because his calling card was a 3 point sniping PG. That's why everyone was so head over heels for him in the draft. No excuses about being tired or how defenses keyed in on him. They didn't make excuses about him being tired in college. Why start now? Everybody who was out there playing was tired and had defenders on them. I keep telling y'all, making excuses for him is not going to help him at all. Next yall will be saying "the Sun was in his eyes!!" The only reason he is 1st team whatever is because this was a weak draft.
When we say he could end up being X, there is always an implicit likelihood associated with it; for most prospects, the % is going to be low.
Oh man I’ve already become a lightning rod for all people mad at Green, I don’t think I can handle another book haha
What does Reed Sheppard have to do with Jalen Green? Jalen Green doesn't even really play the same position or fill the same role that Sheppard likely will.
Winsome national media analysts like Sam Vecenie said he has a higher ceiling than Green. If that was the case then ya they are comparable because then you have some more talented at scoring and playmaking and then what's the point of Jalen? But I don't think it's true and it's just a statement to Garner attention and discussion.
2.8 SPG and 1.3 BPG. Just absurd… Anyone that is worried about shooting percentages or turnovers for rookie Reed better keep that same energy for Jalen Green in year 4. Reed is going to be a 2/1 A2T guy at worst, probably a 3/1. And his shooting percentages are going to be outrageous. For now, School of FVV. Very important development year for Reed.
