I can surely understand, however, I can also see the brass that be put a little more effort into obtaining a key player if they feel this team isn't quite there still (regardless of who is out). I believe you can only count on the players you have currently. That's who your team is. You never know when a player comes back from an injury how long it'll take for them to be effective and in baseball it happens all too often that a player comes back much different than before (especially if he left on a hot streak). This team is a .500 team as is and this hot streak so far is fools gold if they think they don't need to really give up something to get something in return.
I can tell you how, lifeless offense, a rookie pitcher who wouldn't be up here without all the injuries.
Lmao the boos from the Ms fan after the final out were loud for how many people were at the game. They absolutely suck right now
It's time to send Chas to Sugar Land to get some consistent at bats, dude looks totally lost and is a shell of himself. Surely Whitcomb, Wagner or Leon could help or at least spark some life into this team.
Without their wins, we should be easily 4-5 games back and in a battle for 2nd/3rd place with the ****ing Rangers and Angels.
Thank you, Angels. I'll tell you what frustrates me. It isn't losing to the A's, because losses are going to happen. What frustrates me (beyond this game) is our loss of fundamental plate discipline. We were once revered for taking pitchers deep into ABs. Fouling off tough pitches, not chasing junk pitches and overall just putting up good ABs. Pass the baton. We still don't K a lot, which is good, but we seek to ambush at every AB. Patience is a virtue. If Breggy could run, I'd suggest putting him in the 1 hole, just to set the tempo, but alas he's molasses. Dubon doesn't K much, but also swings at everything, so he isn't ideal to set the mentality of working a pitcher. Pena would be awesome there if he could just recognize a slider and lay off of it, but he hasn't been able to do that. I honestly don't see an on-roster answer for this problem, but I think if we could find it or correct it, somehow (somewhere), the offense would greatly benefit.
This has been the same offensive strategy we have had for years now. They have consistently been towards the bottom in pitches per PA.
