Not from scratch, as the transition—assuming Harris is indeed the nominee—took literally just a name change filing with the FEC. Most everything is leveraged, and this is probably one of the biggest reasons why she is being endorsed right out the door. On the other hand, Trump’s cruise control is no longer the case. As Trump himself complained: it’s unfair that their campaign has to start over.
This is going to be a real fascinating thing to watch play out. Trump is in a bit of a pickle. He has to refuse to debate Kamala while also pretending to be a serious leader and candidate. Those two things are at odds with each other. Also, not debating Kamala lets Kamala control the narrative.

Reality: Trump's intellect is vastly superior to Kamala's... he has significantly more experience on the national stage... and he just dominated Biden in the last debate, which led to Biden's withdrawal from the race. Pence mopped the floor with Kamala in 2020. The Dems best strategy is to hide Kamala and try to market her like a can of Pepsi. If she gets out there and starts talking, people will run away. Her policy positions are massive, massive vulnerabilities. Especially her support for the Green New Deal and a complete ban on fracking. Bye bye Pennsylvania.
Yeah - he will likely be remembered long term as a very productive and successful President in an era of absolute **** shows around the world. Similar to how Truman is now viewed. The real issue should be with the DNC, who knew Biden would be over 80 years old in a second term - and should have prepared him for only one term, while bolstering other promising candidates. Instead, they did not promote or bolster anyone.
