ClutchFans Game Thread: Rockets @ Blazers - Vegas Summer League 7/21/2024

We're doing a lot to try and lose this game while doing a lot to come back and win it. Strange universe.

 

I like Orlando Robinson in the summer league.

 

I wanted to check this game out before I realized no Sheppard no Clingan. But looking at the box score the fact that Griffin with another dud game is not boding well for him breaking into the rotation this season.

 

Yeah Orlando has been pretty good. Maybe we can kick out one of the Nates or that Samuels guy and add him instead.

 

The moment I realized Reed wasn't playing I went and did other things. Checked box score just now, looks like I made the right choice.

 

There should be a lottery for losing SL teams, I keed.

 

To be fair, Tyler Kolek has been making more Nash like passes than Reed and Reed has been like Mark Price.

So Rob Dilly, with no Cam Whitmores on his team, still leads them to a 4-1 record and will be playing at least one more game. He got better each game and finishes this last game with a double double.
He even made Daishen Nix look good! Now that's a real PG!!

 

They still would have lost with Reed because they would have been forcing him to run point.

 

Probably, but I liked seeing Reed and Cam, everyone else sucked badly this SL and I had no interest in watching all those scrubs.

 

I liked Robinsons potential and wanted Griffin to show something. He never really impressed at all. I felt bad for guys like Keels and White because I didn't even know they were on the team. Jeenathan was kinda so-so and that was disappointing.

 

I was already on the fence about watching this whole game with the late start but once I saw Reed wasn’t playing, all bets was off…

 

Wasn't a single real NBA player on the roster last night, just fringe league hangers on.

Robinson has certainly looked like a good summer league player, but as a 24 year old with 2 years NBA experience he should look good.

 

Strong start and weak finish.

2-0 and then 0-3.

Opposite of last season.

 

maybe our most disappointing SL showing of the past decade. garrett jackson is silas level and the supporting players ymca level. cam showed zero growth as far as sharing the ball. reed needs work protecting the ball and staying in front of his man. aj griffin lololol

 

Total buzzkill this morning when I wake up early to watch the game and Reed's in the black polo...

 

Same. Excited to watch the replay and immediately closed the browser when he appeared in the frame in street clothes.

 

Kudos to the Jaygup fans, dude was balling out and refreshing to see him again.
