Dems may still lose the presidency, but this will help boost excitement/turn-out in house races.

The reality of how we vote is very akin to a parliamentary system where we vote for the party, not the individual.

No one is "excited" by Biden. No one is voting for Biden because he's Joe Biden. They are voting for him because he's in the political party of the two parties that isn't fascist.

People were sold on Biden in the primaries because they were sold with the concept he was the best man to take down Trump. Now it's overwhelming majority of the Democrat voter base that doesn't believe Joe Biden is the best human to defeat Trump.

At this point it's really a tough call. Kamala seems to not be liked. She is a minority which will hurt her with a certain demo, but in my unscientific polling black people seem to like her even less than white people, so she gets dinged twice. It would seem unfair to skip over her, but I'm not sure the numbers are there.

Either way, they had to try something else because at this point Biden was DOA and had no real ammo to change the tide. People like me are gonna vote for any democrat, they have to find one that can sway some of the almost MAGA crowd (I can't believe anybody can still be undecided on Trump, but they are)

They should nominate a Michelle Obama/Taylor Swift ticket. Unbeatable IMO

Biden was the incumbent. I disagree with him doing what he did, but there hasn't been a serious challenge to an incumbent since 1980. Acting deferential to an incumbent is pretty normal these days.

Now we need Trump to drop out because he is unfit for office.

Yep, that's my concern. She could win by driving up the blue votes in cities like Obama did...but Obama is probably the most charismatic American politican alive today.

I worry Kamala will struggle with middle class white workers in PA, WI, MI, etc and these are places Dems have to win.

I do think she wins, she's going to need a really strong VP...but I think Newsom/Whitmer cleans the table. Easy.

Also, the GOP is prepared and ready for Kamala.

Kamala absolutely sucks and will not help the Dema win the race at all. Their best bet would have been RFK Jr, but they stupidly burned that bridge.

I will because didn't vote him last election but last I checked, I'm still Black.

The focus will now be on Trump's age only. Enjoy!

In an alternate timeline, my preferences would have gone like this: As I voted for Biden in the 2008 primary, I really thought he was at the height of his powers and knew the workings of Congress intimately. I think he could have beat the McCain-Ditzo ticket with Barack as his VP. Picture a world where America could get used to the idea of Obama and Obama could get used to DC over 4-8 years before running for POTUS. Very different world-line, and Trump maybe doesn't ever become relevant without birtherism, etc.

Who knows. But Joe definitely wasn't my pick for a 2024 candidate. So now, disarray and all, I'll probably be backing whatever the Dems come up with versus Trump.

Another positive for the Dems: they haven't been able to generate this much attention and interest in many years. Advertising $ would never be able to purchase the attention they're going to get for the next month or two.

    Agreed.

Roe v Wade is still hanging heavy over their heads and the stench of Trump is very real due to how unpopular he is among moderates and independents

Unless the Dems go with someone even older than Biden, LOL. Don't rule it out.

With Hilary Clinton , most people believe her experience is bad experience. Especially for a America that is tired with foreign intervention and war hawkness.

There isn't a 20 year infrastructure of anti-Kamala lore like there is with Hillary.

LOL, the reason he left wasn't noble. The people who actually run the country told him they weren't going to bankroll him anymore.
