Meyers is a top 10 CF in MLB. One crazy thing is how similar the stats are for CF. There are 32 players with >150 pa as CF this year: 26 of 32 have a 4-10% walk rate 23 have a 18-27% k rate Those seem like narrow bands to me. The variance is in power and defense, which Meyers has.
He’s posted an OPS .797 or above in 5 of the last 6 seasons. Career .373 OBP and doesn’t strike out much. Last 30 games he’s hitting over .300 with an OPS above .800. Really curious what you looked at that made you think “I don’t want that guy”?
Yeah, with the Rays their players generally aren’t on bad contracts… Wander Franco being the exception.
Clanton loves to stir **** up for attention. Instead of popping off about the M's why not just STFU and be humble. Highlight what the Astros have done (not belittle another franchise and who cares if they've popped off about Houston). Beating your chest and gloating and telling everybody how great you are is never a good look. And why? Because the Astros are in 1st place with 2.5 months still to go? This team celebrates World Series and nothing less.
Clanton is a decent broadcaster and a huge Houston homer. One thing I don't like about him is all his hyperbole. Too many of his comparisons, analogies, and comments are so extreme and silly-sounding that anybody over the age 10 can tell he's exaggerating without knowing any details of what he's talking about. Wexler makes the show because he's more grounded and far more knowledgeable.
