Lincoln hung on for a couple of days. He should be in the Garfield tier of "died slowly relative to the injury"!

believing in conspiracies doesn't make a person a dumbass. It seems the definition most people use for 'conspiracy theory' is just anything that the large majority don't believe in (lets say 80%). If that's the case, everyone believes in conspiracies, some are just too scared to say it. if you agree with the vast majority on everything, you are the very definition of an NPC and are not an individual. Personally, i find conspiracy theorists often to be very interesting to talk to. They aren't scared to tell you exactly what they think and they view things differently than most. Why don't you tell everyone someone conspiracies you believe in ? would be very healthy for you

Trump Gunman Flew Drone Over Rally Site Hours Before Attempted Assassination

Thomas Matthew Crooks flew the drone on a programmed flight path earlier in the day on July 13 to scour the Butler Farm Show grounds ahead of Trump’s ill-fated rally, the officials said. The predetermined path, the officials added, suggests Crooks flew the drone more than once as he researched and scoped out the event site.

The 20-year-old would-be assassin fired at least six rounds from the roof of the American Glass Research building roughly 400 feet away from where Trump spoke, killing one spectator, critically injuring two others and leaving Trump with a graze wound to the ear. A Secret Service sniper team shot back, killing Crooks, whose motive remains a mystery.

Multiple investigations are under way into how a gunman was able to climb onto a rooftop with a clear line of sight to Trump and open fire with an AR-15 rifle. Police had become suspicious of Crooks more than an hour earlier, when officers saw him milling about the edges of the rally with a range finder and a backpack.

The use of the drone was just one way in which authorities have said Crooks planned his attack. Crooks, described by friends as very smart yet withdrawn, began researching the site shortly after the Trump campaign announced the rally on July 3, and registered for the event on July 7, officials said. He visited the farm show grounds a few days later to scope it out.

On July 13, officials said, he returned with a pair of homemade bombs that appeared to be designed to be set off by remote control, as they were fitted with a receiver like the kind used to set off fireworks remotely. Investigators found the rudimentary explosives in Crooks’ car parked close to the grounds, along with a ballistic carrier, or vest, with three, 30-round magazines in it, an indication that he might have wanted to cause greater carnage.

Crooks in recent months had received several packages to his home marked “hazardous materials,” officials said. He did online searches for dates of Trump rallies, but also searched for information about next month’s Democratic convention and President Biden, providing a mixed bag of clues for investigators to sort through as they try to determine what, if any, ideology he ascribed to.

agree about trumps life obviously being in danger. he is lucky to be alive and this country is very lucky that the shot missed. i hate trump and pretty much everything he stands for, but it would have been absolutely tragic and devastating to see him assassinated.

but claiming it was a set-up by trump and his team to bolster his popularity (if so, mission NOT accomplished) is just as dumbasserish as trying to say biden/the deep state/secret service was involved in a conspiracy to take him out.

what im seeing in this thread is almost all right-wingers claiming the latter. i see a few anti-trumpers promoting conspiracy theories, but not the majority of us. not even close.

For the fact she is "insisting" on diversity hires instead of metric qualifications regardless of gender/ race is the paramount reason she HAS to go in addition to what definitely appears as logistical pre planning failure for sure

this goes for protecting a Democrat President as well you have to have the best and if it's a woman that's fantastic but if you cannot achieve the 30% female goal because hiring the best takes priority then I'm sorry f.uck DEI

I respect your opinion but you just kind of restated it here. Do you have any reasoning behind why it's equal? Most right wingers I have seen are claiming it was a combination of refusal to give Trump the amount of security needed (due to dislike of Trump), incompetence, and negligence. Legally there is liability when there is an expectation of an incident if protocols aren't followed. In intent and outcome there is a gradient difference between being negligent and complicit.

i remember reading an article a few years ago about how trumps lifestyle, travel and constant rallies was burning out his secret service detail. i wonder if that was a factor in the failures of those agents on the ground.

one big failure i see with the secret service is one i have not seen brought up too much, but its about how they handled trump after the bullets were fired. they tackled him quickly, but once they got him up they should have kept him covered and got him off stage as quickly as possible. instead trump told them to get his shoes and then actually told them "wait a second" while he popped his head up over them and raised his fist. the shooter was probably already dead, but trump and the agents didnt know that. trump made his head an easy target right there. if there was a 2nd shooter he would have been dead. if the assassin was not taken out already he would have gotten him. trump was very lucky there as well.

not to mention that he also put those agents lives in jeopardy by doing that.

kind of shows 1) how lucky trump is and 2) how stupid he is.

the failure in that moment is those agents deferring to trump. when he said "get my shoes" and "wait a second" they should have ignored him, pushed his head down and carried him offstage. in a incident like that the SS is supposed to take over and they failed in that moment.

come on dude. youre reading this thread too. we are seeing baseless conspiracy theory after baseless conspiracy theory coming from the trumpers.

there are some anti-trumpers doing it too, but not nearly at the same level.

also, we have actual sitting members of congress claiming biden was involved or that there was some conspiracy. i dont see any democrat politicians pushing any conspiracies about it being a set-up by trump to boost his poll numbers.

I'm a member of a CrossFit box, and there are women there who routinely kick my ass in all aspects, including weights.

however, I'm 6' 2" tall, and most of the women are 5' 4" or shorter. if you're shorter than your protectee, you shouldn't be on body protection duty.

I will note it's not clear from the video whether the short women are actually part of his protective detail, or just doing their part in an emergency.

I will say this - I don't have a problem with a DEI hire. However it is highly unethical to hire based on superficial reasons.
Someone foolish stated a DEI hire is ok because they must meet the requirements. This is wrong. An institution should hire the best candidate based on merit first and foremost. I would estimate half the workforce is are 'qualified' incompetent people with acceptable credentials (ie: a degree from a art school). Just because a person is accredited doesn't make the competent and a good hire.
The medical field is a great example. Every doctor is accredited but the entire field is full of incompetent people who call themselves professionals, but in reality, they have no business practicing. Anyone who has randomly picked a medical profession out of the directory knows what I am talking about. Unfortunately these are the people who most often get filled with DEai hires

It's like Crooks took all the vitriol in here and elsewhere and planned to off both leaders.

    Yet the bickering continues...
