You got us all figured out. Yes we will be completely miserable if Jalen is a big part of our favorite basketball team succeeding. We will only be happy if they succeed without Jalen.
I will be disappointed if Jalen isnt part of the future of the franchise. I don't fake things. Mainly with Jalen because I really want his game to succeed.
I have never once thought you were faking. As for the part in bold, I want Jalen to succeed as well and I suspect many of his critics do also. We just have our doubts due to his past history of drastic inconsistency.
I doubt it. Maybe with you but with many posters due to their exaggerated claims of Jalen, how relentless they are, I doubt it.
How is this different than someone being disappointed that he’s in the roster? You’ll be disappointed that others are on the roster instead of him. You justify this by claiming it’s not personal, you just like the style of basketball he plays. Meanwhile for some reason others aren’t entitled to feel this way or if they do it has to be a personal ill-intentioned vendetta. Let’s say for example someone doesn’t like the style of basketball he plays which feels too forced and too reliant on athleticism instead of a slower, more deliberate and strategic style. Why can’t that be the reason and why is this wrong? Not to mention we aren’t even there yet because the player you are stanning for isn’t even playing great. This is a well-known cognitive bias. We tend to attribute our own misses and failures to context and conditions and others perceived failures to their character and nature. And that’s where your bias shows. Also super weird to bring Sengun into it all of a sudden which many JG stans tend to do - let me reason like you do: I bet you would be happy if Sengun wasn’t in the team, because if it wasn’t for him Jalen would be the most important prospect we were looking up to now. Doesn’t matter if it was a worse team, Sengun just took his spotlight and made him less important. So maybe you shouldn’t go around all high and mighty blaming others of not being team fans either. How do you like that?
Yes. If someone doesn't have superstar within the fan of ranges he could be they are wrong. If someone says his ceiling is a decent starter or good 6th man they are wrong. If someone says that he has passed the floor of being a career 6th man, they are wrong. Right now the fan of ranges for Green is superstar to 6th man. The only floor he's cleared is being a end bench player or out of the league after his rookie contract unless some catastrophic injury occurs. I'm assuming you understand the concept of "ceiling" vs "floor". Jalen definitely has shown flashes of superstardom and ra consistency that will determine if he reaches that. My comment you replied to are for those who say stuff like "his ceiling is a glorified 6th man".
The whole damn rebuild falls into place If Jalen Green and Alperen Sengun go berserk this year. Please basketball gods.
Let's be real. You'd hate if that happens for Jalen. So much time investment ******** on the dude and now the Rockets are doing well because of a dude you've shitted on for multiple years? That would suck for you and you wouldn't be able to enjoy it on clitchfans at least if it did happen because we will call people like you out all the time
The projection of a player only fan.... simply because he won't be able to enjoy the Rockets success if his favorite player fails, he assumes the opposite is true of Rockets fans. If Jalen Green miraculously turns into a starter or star quality player for the Rockets I'd absolutely celebrate it because that would help the team... which is the ONLY thing that matters. Now sure, the player only fans reaction to that kind of miracle will be stupid, but it's worth letting those morons gloat about how their blind faith paid off if it makes the Rockets significantly better.
Thanks for the explanation. I do respect your opinion that based on your current favorite Rockets player is Jalen and you like his style of play (stated in your previous post that I replied to). And i do get where some people, after 3 years, have written off the “superstar” outcome or at least think that Jalen has a very very little possibility to reach that. They grew frustrated at the inconsistency of Jalen and maybe their favorite Rockets isn’t Jalen. Or maybe it was but not anymore.
I'm not here to police your fandom experience, so you do you, but I promise you this is not normal. He'll enjoy it just as much as you if Jalen is a superstar.
It's basic human psychology. You invest multiple years ******** on a dude you'll not feel the same enjoying that success. Come on. Be real. There are basic ego factors to understand. People don't like being wrong especially when they invested so much time in being that wrong. Trust me there are plenty of dudes here who are hoping to god Jalen doesn't make it because they have three years of unhinged relentless **** talking.
I have come to the conclusion that you are A.) paid by Jalen Green’s camp or B.) have a serious obsession with Jalen Green. You can’t let anything go. You spam almost every thread with ChatGPT level bs defending Jalen. You make the board unreadable.
