This is how stupid you are. Jalen's numbers tailed off last season bc teams were doubling him at half court. By your logic, how can a guy that's a bust on not starting caliber demand double teams like that? I
Any scrub selfish chucker will get doubled when they are allowed to dominate the ball like Jalen. It doesn't mean they are good, it means the defense thinks they'll crumble under pressure and are either too selfish or lack the skills to exploit the fact that they are leaving someone open. The ONLY thing different about his 8 game fluke and the rest of his career is that during the 8 game fluke he hit 47% of his 3's and the rest of his career he can't shoot a basketball.
I know you can't help it Beavis but stop being Butthead..... Name a list of scrubs who got double teamed because they were volume chuckers You would just let them shoot themselves out of the game...... NBA teams throw double teams to get it out the 1st option/hot hand, way more than the 3 stooges idea you just concocted in your said brain And since you claim you watch the games then I Am pretty sure you heard/saw like the rest of us, on how he had a season ending strong 23 game stretch (not 8 or the KPJ mandated 15 games) Your cliche for next season will be... I have to give credit where credit is due (you made a player on your own team a ''rival'') And you will rinse n repeat, about time he became such n such before his 30th birthday...... If he hits 47% of his 3s next season you may just never leave your mudhole, I mean man cave ever again
You crazy kids have said this for 4 years now and Jalen has been terrible and made you look foolish....when are you going to learn your lesson? As to the 23 game BS, you clearly didn't watch the games. He had an 8 game fluke, then was dogshit the final 9 games of the season...back to what he has been his whole career. Anyway, I do hope your blind faith pays off and that he miraculously becomes a starting quality player next season, but I'm not holding my breath.
Wow, so you believe posting box score stats are only for analytics nerds who don't watch basketball? Oof I'm surprised you've lasted this long on clutchfans without pulling your hair out given how many numbers gets posted on here.
You goats have been saying this for 3 yrs You goats keep counting his 15 game g league season as a year, that was a complete setback If you/I enter a draft but have to wait a year and play with the YMCA to kill time, that is a setback.... That is not the same like Howard/Kobe etc who came out of HS and played rookie yr with NBA franchise.....but I would expect non-players to see it as 4 years but his NBA resume says his 4th season in NBA career is on deck How has a player on trajectory as TMac/Kobe who took that path making anybody look foolish? You are foolish, the 23 game stretch was what they showcased, so it must have meant something....no diff. than any other stat they may show on a player as they did with Cam/Bari/Sengun etc during the season It seems to me you should be sending a memo to those teams giving out max deals to dogshit level players like 5cent candy Green n Sengun are laying back in the cut looking at Wagner/Cunningham.......thinking, damn it feels good to be dogshit, they get the bag$
yes, definitely has seen the defenses trying to punk him. Some of it is because his handle is shaky (although he has improved it), some of it is because they think he's a floozy and will cough it up under pressure... TBH, I am not sure this is a very profitable strategy. Sure, his TO% is higher than FVV and Holiday - our two other ball-handlers - but is not atrocious, and the kid CAN make the right pass out of the double team. Also he has shown quite a few times that he can split the DT, with his good footwork. So, I am not sure it is worth it to distort your defensive balance when Green has the ball.
That's not what you crazy kids were saying at the time....we kept hearing about how that time in the G league playing against "grown ass men" was why he was definitely the best pick.....then he was terrible. At some point, you'll have to stop embarrassing yourself and finally embrace reality. Till then, thanks for the laughs.
A lot of it is not just the turnovers, but the really terrible shots he forces up when pressured. This season, there's honestly no reason why he should be handling the ball very often, you'll have Sengun, FVV, Amen, and Sheppard who should all be better with the ball than him....but with his selfish nature and his low BBIQ, all bets are off. Honestly though, I'd love for him to finally be even half the player his crazy cult thinks he already was 3 years ago, it'll make the team finances awkward, but the team would have a MUCH higher upside.
When you watch him, do you actually think he's good? Do you think all of the data and all the metrics are just wrong? Are you saying jalen is on a trajectory to be as good as tmac/kobe? Also nobody counts his g league season as an actual season (maybe dd, but nobody with a brain), this will be his 4th nba season. So far he has been absolutely awful outside of 2 weeks last season, that part is inarguable.
You must be lumping me in with others because all I heard was how weak the g league was and horrible for development/pick up YMCA So I would feel players of his high rank been playing against grown men all his life, just not NBA grown men, diff tier by a lot But what I saw was most were using that 15 game as showing his 3pt shot had chance to be legit since it was around 35/36% Otherwise I knew it was going to be the same as I viewed those prior who came out of HS, besides Bron/Amare So you can miss me with the BS, beavis
Go pull up Kobe/TMac first 3 yrs of film/stats and you tell me they were 1st ballot HOF It takes players, guards especially Around full 4 yrs (22) to get it going who come straight out of HS Both players really took off, but they showed flash leading up to that You thought Kobe was first ballot HOF rookie yr 7ppg? You thought TMac was HOF after 3rd year? Everybody was awful under Silas,......... Now compare after his season the two with a legit coach vs. old regime, and not just for Jalen, but the others left over from Silas comedy show
Yeah, I lump all of the weird Jalen Green cultists together because it doesn't appear like you do any thinking for yourself. Part of why I was against drafting him was due to the weakness of the G league....and how bad he looked while in the G league. As always, Jalen Green thrives in small samples because he's not any good at anything, but he can be streaky. Even now, you are head over heels due to 8 good games out of an entire season.
What are you talking about? Tmac was a positive player basically as a rookie but his 2nd season he was light years better then any jalen season. While it's true tmac wasn't a star till he was 21 in year 4, he was clearly a good positive player by year 2. Kobe also didn't explode till year 4 but again, year 2 he was light years beyond jalen.
Well that's your fault beavis Yeah all those p!Ayers who came out of HS just tore the league up Telfair/Sanchez were just amazing, they made Kobe/Tmac look like scrubs
What are you talking about? They were positive players as in what? Future trajectory? So they were not stars? Why not? Kobe started in all star game at 15ppg in second season but did not start for Lakers that year. And Kobe strong armed his way to 50+ win team rookie yr who got prime Shaq (runner up MVP/Finals trip) so his positive whatever is null and void Had he gone to Hornets he would have been Green first, volume chucker inefficient
Dude you have access to the internet, go look at their metrics. Both kobe and tmac were good positive players in their 2nd seasons. Neither were stars till year 4, but they were very solid starters by year 2. 3rd year jalen: 1.0 vorp, -0.5 bpm, .056 ws/48 3rd year tmac: 3.4 vorp, 4.1 bpm, .129 ws/48 3rd year kobe: 1.9 vorp, 2.1 bpm, .130 ws/48 It's not even close
Here we go again Go look at the film You think this metric BS is going to change what I just posted that Kobe did? Do you know what getting Shaq with a 53 win team will make you? They had 3 other all stars in his second season with Lakers Green had Silas, who wouldn't even play his core mate (sengun) starting minutes day one So if you want to measure team success in metrics do that But the film on those players first few years were familiar with a bunch of flash to bank on them breaking out yr 4 Which is why the fluke almost won WC POM, and had a 23 game stretch that the network bragged about to end this past season The upward trajectory under Ime is real....... Come late Oct n early November, we shall see if Green continues the Tmac/Kobe trajectory Or will he become Sanchez/Telfair, all hype and disappear into the abyss
