And Anthony Edwards is #1, Kobe Bryant's #2. Sounds like it's pretty good to be on that list when you think about it. Or are you going to claim those 2 are busts also?
Pretty funny to see a post like this in 2024, you would think people would have somewhat of a clue by this point but i guess not. Jordan always had a TS% that was above league average, and in his prime WAY above average. His worst TS+ in a season he played over 20 games (not counting wizards obviously) was 102, his last bulls season (his TS% was 2% above league average). His peak years he was 12-14% above league average (incredible). Kobe was also above league average every single season of his career till he tore his achilles at 35. Jalen peaked as a rookie where he was 3% below league average and the last 2 years he's been 7% below league average, which is horrific.
Unfortunately ego gets involved from the players end. If Jalen & Sengun honestly think they’re as good as these guys the got extended, they are going to start viewing their situation as disrespect.
I think that's an overblown argument and any reasonable agent would help their client understand the situation. In situations like this, it's actually in the agents best interest to help their player not get in their feeling about it because ultimately both the player and agent stand to make more money by keeping a good relationship with the team that drafted them because ultimately that team can offer more than other teams. ...and to repeat, whether you get a max deal now in Feburary, or next summer has zero impact on how much money you make or when you get that money. You still won't get that money until next season starts.
Yeah I've heard it before. So please explain to me if TS% is the be all and end all of everything, why did we not consider Joe Harris or Danny Green to be better than James Harden in 2018? Because the counting stats are what ACTUALLY matter on the scoreboard. Your efficient 18 is still worth less than an inefficient 30. Please show me one example of a great/star performance where the reports go "The Cavs won and Lebron had a heroic ts% and RAPTOR?" they just don't, great performances go like this "And Kobe put up 81 pts to lead the lakers to victory." It's the counting stats that actually make the legacies and the history books. I said it before and I'll say it again, Reggie Miller aint **** to Michael Jordan.
LOL! I guess man. But we’re talking big $$$ and with these young guys Ego always plays a part. Some of these youngins are delusional and think theyll deserve things they may not. We see it professional sports all the time in contract negotiations. Look at the Brandon Ayiuk in the NFL, hell you saw it with Paul George and the Clippers. Ego always plays a part.
His closest comparisons in fg% are Booker and Beal, both have better fg% and played their under 23 year old seasons in a league with average efg% about 4% less. He really needs to get his efficiency up to a respectable number this year, to the cost of scoring less.
You compare efficiency among players who has similar volume. Jalen's efficiency is by far worst, along with Barrett on players with similar volume (see my post above). And that's the main criticism. He can't continue to take that many shots with that efficiency. No player has been given that in history. I am hoping he can do it, but the counting stats won't save him. Harden's efficiency was very good for his volume.
But jordan was SUPER efficient, that's such a weird argument. If your efficiency sucks, then you suck. It doesn't matter if jalen green scores 50 ppg, if his TS sucks then he's killing your offense. James harden TS in 2018 was 11% above league average, his efficiency was incredible. It's basically what made him the superstar that he was. I would take a guy who averages 18 on say 5% above league average TS then someone who averages 40 on 5% below league average TS any day. Your examples are really dumb and really go against your arguments. What you need to find are players who score a lot on terrible efficiency (which is jalen) that were great players. The only real example i can think of is Iverson, his efficiency wasn't good (obviously not as bad as jalen), but he's also probably the most overrated player in basketball history and someone i'd have no interest in having on my team.
Counting stats don't matter, jalen could average 50 and he would still suck if his efficiency didn't improve.
I hope Jalen becomes the best player on our team and a superstar of epic proportions. It's not because I like him the best of all the guys on our team but because there are so many assholes that deserve to eat ****.
Since Jalen still has his defenders on here, I ask this question to them specifically. If Jalen starts out the year terrible again...how long do you want to give him? 2 months? 3? The year? What happens if he's at 18 PPG again on .33 from 3 and .40 from the field?
No Rockets fan would be upset if one of the worst players on the roster magically became awesome at basketball because it would help the team. No one dislikes Jalen Green because of who he is.... no one besides his fanbois even care who he is off the court, people dislikes Jalen Green because he's terrible at basketball and it hurts the Rockets.
What is your crusade all about, you are more interested in trashing him than going out with friends or taking a vacation? You are non-stop hate. Why not just hope for the best?
