Jalen Brown doesn’t have single leadership skills either but he is a Star. I’ll give a pass playing horrible B2B games in SL but we all knew he didn’t had leadership skills to begin with.

Training camp begins after tomorrow. So the Rockets did their job. Thank you.
Sasser was the perfect matchup for Reed to face.

 

I agree much like KPJ he needs to simplify his game and find other ways to be effective including defense. He is a north south guy not a great change of direction or pace guy. Doesn’t have a pull up game or post game. I think he is still a dribble drive threat. He just needs to not try to score every play when there’s nothing there. and he needs to play within the flow of the offense and what the defense gives him.

1 of 15....6.7% ...that says it all. He did hit 3 of 4 from the line though for 3 of his 5 pts. Also had 5 rebounds

 

I feel like it was more to show him just how much better his conditioning has to be in the NBA than in college....and I'd bet he got the message.

Interesting enough, I feel like Cam's conditioning was WAY worse then even Sheppard's. He was absolutely spent from the first play of the game.

Learning lessons like that will get players to work harder in the offseason and make them a lot better when the real games happen.

 

Positives:
1). AJ Griffin has gotten better every game; had his best game today. The shot is starting to come around.
2). Orlando Robinson is legit. Not sure there’s a spot for him on the roster but very serviceable player. Well rounded game.

Negatives:
1). Cam shouldn’t have been playing. But regardless he’s shot poorly the entire tournament.
2). Reed getting a dose of defensive attention. Plus tired legs. He will adjust. Not worried.
3). Nate Williams can’t dribble.

I did like Shep telling Cam early on that it's ok...I need you.

 

I like that Cam played, it was a hard lesson that he's been taking it too easy during the offseason and his conditioning is nowhere near where it needs to be.

 

That was tired legs by all of them and Cam doing a Jalen Green pre-ASB impersonation. Reed and Cam need to get in better shape before the real season begins. That was really ugly.

 

They finally see what some of us saw last year. Hopefully Cam can evolve because what he is doing isn’t working. Not winning ball
