It's actually insane that people think a 3 year player who plays at a similar level to a 9 year developed player has hit his ceiling. It's quite clear that Sabonis is Sengun's floor, not his ceiling.
Nah, WE'D all still be Houston Rockets fans. You'd go back to doing whatever Turkish people did before Alperen Sengun picked up a basketball - or more likely, you'd go pull the same troll act on the Knicks forum.
Well keep in mind this is the same guy who posted on here that he was CERTAIN Sengun would never average over 20 ppg in any season in his entire career, and would also never be a good enough player to be an NBA starter. So I think his player evaluation skills are a bit off when it comes to Sengun.
I mean, I'd say the player evaluations that almost all of us make tend to be terrible at some point so I won't hold that against him. It is mad though to think a 3rd year player is already at their ceiling.
These Sengun fans are hilarious! Must suck to be a player only fan, rather than loving an entire team.
Oh yeah for sure, everyone gets things wrong. I still think he has good stuff to say and I'm not suggesting we all put him on ignore or anything like that. I just think he has a particular blind spot when it comes to evaluating Sengun or players of that same archetype. So when he says things like "Sengun isn't a better passer than Sabonis", and then "we must trade Sengun because we can't win a championship with him", then take that with a grain of salt.
I’m very high on how good we can be next season.. not having Sengun would make me pretty meh about our potential to make the playoffs. The rockets want to make the playoffs, they’re not fools
It’s one thing to say you don’t think Sengun won’t average 20+. It’s another to be certain he never will.
I mean, I can actually see the argument that Alpi's not a better passer than Sabonis, Alpi's highest assist average is 5 for a season, Sabonis' last 2 seasons were 8.2 and 7.3 which are legit PG numbers. I don't agree with it (mostly because I think Alpi has better flair/vision but hasn't actually been utilized as the much vaunted "Senhub" we all expected because Ime's defensive genius is contrasted with his primitive offense and he reduced him to a roll man) but I can at least see the argument. Advocating we trade our current best player though is where madness lies haha.
No doubt, but it's also a grownup big boy move to admit when you're wrong instead of doubling/quadrupling down on it.
Yeah but Sabonis gets like 60% of his assists on handoffs. I get that those are technically assists, but I wouldn't really consider it passing. A shooter runs up next to you, and you hand him the ball, and then he shoots it. I'm not trying to diminish the value of the play itself, I just don't consider it to be a demonstration of passing ability.
LOL, Rockets fans interested in what we could get back. SOF interested in what the other team still has left
Atleast give the full facts .your only taking the last 2 seasons for sabonis his 7-8 years into the NBA vs 3 years of sengun at age 22. Compare the seasons up to age 22 . It took sabonis rookie to 4 years of 1 apg 2 and 2 and then 5 per game , so if you compare sengun is way ahead of progress so idk about ur facts
As I said, " don't agree with it" but I can see the argue for it. Not sure why you felt you needed to argue the point with me when I said I don't agree with it?
LEARN. TO. READ. Direct quote from what you just ****ing quoted "I mean, I can actually see the argument that Alpi's not a better passer than Sabonis, Alpi's highest assist average is 5 for a season, Sabonis' last 2 seasons were 8.2 and 7.3 which are legit PG numbers. I don't agree with it " Seriously, it's not ****ing hard to read the post before you argue with somebody who agrees with you.
