Not to be crass, but there really is no other way to learn about the event than media and that media gets distributed through social media. This was a live event on multiple new organizations. Outside of the news/reactions viewed on a smart device, you're not really getting exposed to the event. For better or worse.

That's hardly what I meant. Obviously people are going to consume news through the news, but the absolute lack of critical thinking, the incessant need for people to pick a team (blue or red, yippee!), and then the staunch defending of said team - parroting media rhetoric, it's just exhausting. All of this **** is corrupt. Nobody is "saving democracy" or "making 'Merica great again". The delusion is incomprehensible. Just keep being manipulated, that's their game. Unfortunately one of the key safeguards to our democratic republic, an alert and knowledgable citizenry, is now unattainable.
