It definitely sounds like an audience member was killed and it sounds like the shooter was at a distance from the rally. I'm not an expert on this but my understanding are that .50 caliber rifles have an effective range of miles so if the shooter was using some sort of high powered rifle could've been quite a distance from it.
So I guess if it wasn't a done deal before, now its certain that Trump wins. That picture of him holding his fist up while bloodied is going to be seared into everyone's minds. The fact that it was Antifa, who burned cities in the US with the support of leftists, cements the deal.

Story is still developing but my main takeaway is the slow reactions by secret service and allowing trump to pose for a photo op. Quite incompetent by secret services.
