can he still be held liable in a civil trial a'la OJ?

he was not just the star, but one of the executive producers on a set where there was some major negligence going on when it came to safety issues.

    What a weird story.

If somebody hands you a gun and says "this is unloaded"...you check it, check it again, and then treat it as if it's loaded.

The last thing you do is point it at someone and pull the trigger

you would think that would be part of the training for actors. i remember reading that a bunch of the production crew quit shortly before the shooting because of what they described as an unsafe set. and that the armorer was going out with other members of the crew and firing all those antique guns in their off-time.

i dont blame baldwin the actor as much as baldwin the producer.

Don't understand why they can't take another shot at prosecution. I don't know if he should be held guilty or not, but it seems like an injustice to not even have a trial.

Does anyone know if the victim's family reach some kinds of settlement with Baldwin? If not than what a tragedy all around. No justice or even some form of closure will ever happen.

Yea...now he will given how the armorer and the next guy who passes the gun can't do their jobs. I believe the actual term used was "cold gun". From what I've read, this can mean the gun is empty or is loaded with blanks. It just means the gun is "safe to use". Also, is it the job of the actor to empty the gun to check every bullet to determine if it is a blank versus a live round since noone upstream from him can be counted on to do their jobs properly? I guess it is. It would have saved Brandon Lee...right? If I was an actor, then I would probably have my own ammo expert with me checking it out from here on out. lol. Keanu never seemed to have a problem. Wonder what he does?

Mostly they don't use REAL guns, this was a low budget feature so they used actual guns they already had,.....how REAL ammo was on set is the problem.....it was clearly not a safe set all the way around.

from what i read its not uncommon to use real guns, especially in period-piece movies like this. they were using antique firearms. the problem was that reportedly the armorer and her friends were taking the guns and going out and shooting with them after work, which is a big no-no.

this sounds like one of the reasons a bunch of the crew quit and said the set conditions were not safe.
