Keep talking and say more stupid s***. You constantly show your Butt Turd hand. You don't even realize what you said when the quote was right there in your face. Could just be trolling. .
I'm considering who I am disappointed in so far in 2024. So far in 2024, Hunter Brown has shown me he can be at least a middle or rotation starter and possibly even more. I'm therefore not disappointed at all in him but rather very excited.
How you described Hunter is the exact same as most described him entering the season. Now, he's currently below league average ERA-wise and still hasn't proven durability/effectiveness over the course of 162. Maybe he performs well over the long haul, maybe he doesn't -- but to act like he isn't the conversation of disappointments is ludicrous.
But he has made every start, all his stats are better than last year, and all his expected stats are among the top half of SP in MLB this year. He sucked in April but I don't see how, even counting that, you can say he has been a disappointment - unless you were foolishly expecting him to be an all star in his sophomore season.
Hunter was better at this same point last season -- then he regressed (likely due to fatigue). Did you consider that? You can save your condescending "foolishly" comments and your lame trolling. He didn't have to be an All-Star to be better than he's been this season.
To me, I'm glad he's righted the ship and is performing above my expectations. He's a young guy and most young guys haven't proven to be great players over 162 games as rookies or second year players. I guess this comes down to expectations, what were your expectations of Brown at this point of the season?
So you are saying if someone expected him to have an all star caliber season it wasn't "foolish" - I don't understand the callout there. And I am aware of Brown's second half tumble last year, but it didn't play much into my thoughts about how he has done this year. Yes he may have a second half like last year and if he does then I will consider him a disappointment but he isn't now.
Right.... and you were aware of it before you compared the two seasons in your previous rebuttal. Disingenuous. Trolling. I'm happy Hunter has turned his '24 around. Just saying it's not ludicrous to say this year has been a disappointment overall. Go ahead and troll about it.
Like I asked before what are your expectations of Brown? To me the second half of the season will determine if he's had a successful second half of the season.
Whatever. I disagree it makes him a disappointment but I do acknowledge your reasons are all legitimate. And I certainly don't agree that Hunter is a bigger disappointment than half a dozen others. Lets just hope nobody else gets added to the conversation. Cheers and go Astros.
In my opinion if Hunter Brown continued to pitch the way he did to start the season then he would be a disappointment. Hopefully he has turned the corner to good career. We will see, I do believe he is a #2 or 3 starter. Good stuff with an improvement with the fast ball. I think for disappointment is: 1 Espada 2 the 3 top leverage pitchers although they have somewhat improved. 3 Chas 4 JV but I was not expecting the old JV
160 innings in 1/2 a season? That's unrealistic. If you mean 160 innings in a full season, I think he will reach that mark. I don't know about 3.50 era, I think that was ambitious to begin with. I do think he will get his era down under 4.0, probably around 3.75.
He should have 13 more starts. He has pitched 6+ innings 9 times in a row. If he averages 6 for those 13 starts he ends w/ 170.1 IP He would need to give up 20 or fewer ER in those 13 starts to get ERA down to 3.50 (3.48). Giving up 2 per start gets him to 3.81
I can see an argument for why he’s been somewhat disappointing but to have him ranked ahead of Chas is wild to me. Hunter at least looks like he’s figured things out. Chas still looks lost as ****
Really feels like the HR issue from Hader has been more fluky than anything. His K rate is still one of the best in baseball, up from last year actually, and he’s nearly halved his BB rate from last year. His advanced stats still show he’s elite. He’s also 17/18 in save attempts. Aside from the HRs, his usage by Espada, especially earlier in the season, was not ideal. That said, the answer is Chas. I didn’t expect we would see him with a .842 OPS again this season, but I for damn sure expected somewhere in the .750-.800 range. He’s at .572 right now and doesn’t even look remotely close to coming out of whatever he’s been in this season. His future outlook is muddy to say the least. Obviously Abreu has a case as well but him being bad wasn’t surprising. Other than them two and the injuries (JV, LMJ, etc.), really not disappointed by any other Astro when you consider the rest of the season outlook.
