Where are the places you've lived? Stories about the places are encouraged but not required. Kansas City, Mo Des Moines, IA Houston, TX 1981 Gessner and Clay living with my parents while I got on my feet 1982 Aldine Bender and I-45. What a dump. The place had roaches soooo bad and no amount of exterminating could get rid of them. I watched TV with a can or Raid in my hand. Roaches in bed, Roaches in the shower. Roaches would crawl on you when you took a dump - it took 2 decades for me to stop checking the toilet seat even in an airplane. The last straw was when I had a cake in the fridge and when I opened the fridge, there was a roach on the cake. I broke the lease after 3 months. 1983 I-45 and Fuqua 1985 I-45 and Rankin 1986 Humble 1987 Med Center 1990 Westbury. An end townhouse that looked nice on a Sunday afternoon. I was awakened too many times with gunfights - different caliber guns going off at once. One evening they were right outside shooting that caused us to hit the floor. I saw 2 different shootings in person from feet away including 1 while I was in the pool on a Saturday afternoon. 1991 Copperfield 1997 left the state Chattanooga, TN area ever since and no plans on leaving here. You?
lived in katy when i was younger, it was a boring burbs life where everyone had a bball rim on their driveways. friends always chose to play on my driveway cus we'd always break the neighbor's fence with the ball and better it be my neighbor than theirs i guess. plus mum always makes some mean snacks that everyone loved. my favorite was the noodles and sausages that dad would grill. then something something we moved out of katy. don't remember why, possibly something about evacuation.

holdon holdon holdon holdon holdon holdon holdon holdon holdon wait just a minute. I think this might deserve further explanation or even its own thread. For research purposes.
Not many places lived here. Houston, TX - 1986 to 2010. Huntsville, TX - 2010 to 2011, for Sam Houston State. Didn't like it. Moved back to Houston. Houston, TX - 2011 to present.
hahahaha. Yeah....this could be its own thread. I actually did not find out until the day that my Daughter was going to be born that my Boss was pregnant. They kept it a secret from me for some reason, but a good friend told me when she went in for Labor. Luckily I was able to make it to the hospital in time and was there for delivery. 18 years of child support after paternity was established....finished that back in 2019. Now I have a soon to be 22 year old who is pretty awesome. Side note, her Mom and I never got together, and it wasnt that bad of a relationship throughout the years, but she unfortunately passed back in 2020 of aggressive breast cancer that took her out quick.
Wow. Interesting. Thanks for sharing (you obviously didn't have to...I was just trying to be funny). Sorry to hear about your daughter's mother. Also glad you were able to have a good relationship with your daughter. So many in your position would probably try to wash their hands of it...but sounds like you made the right choices and have benefitted greatly. F! CANCER!!!
In somewhat chronological order but not listing repeats later: St Paul MN Seabrook Houston Alvin Las Vegas, NM Pearland Friendswood Webster League City Galveston Addison Fort Worth Azle
Azle Well, now, let me see. You know, I don't have any idea where that is. Interviewer: Uh, well, it's some city close to Fort Worth -- I know where it is, sonny. To me, it's just a made up place, a politician's word, so that young fellas like yourself can wear a suit and a tie and have a job. What do you really wanna know? Am I sorry for never having lived in Azle? Interviewer: Well, are you? There's not a day goes by I don't feel regret. Not because I'm in here, or because you think I should. I look back on the way I was then, a young, stupid kid who committed to living elsewhere. I wanna talk to him. I wanna try to talk some sense to him -- tell him the way things are. But I can't. That kid's long gone and this old man is all that's left. I gotta live with that. Azle? It's just a bu11shi1 word. So you go on and stamp your form, sonny, and stop wasting my time. Because to tell you the truth, I don't give a shi1.

Thanks, Red. Azle was most redneck place I’ve ever lived, which is saying a lot coming from middle-of-nowhere Alvin. I knew we had to gtfo when my oldest came home and said reading was stupid (his mom is a librarian). Every parent smoked in the school car rider pickup line. I was the only person who didn’t have camo in their daily wardrobe and didn’t participate in ‘week day off time to sit in the front yard with a case of cheap beer and clean my guns’ day. Loved my house there though. 2 acres covered in oak trees on a creek, five minute walk from the lake.
Lebanon Indiana (Born) Toledo Ohio Hollywood Fl Houston Texas - Champions Area (7th grade to College) Rancho Cucamonga California Omaha Ne (so under rated, I love Omaha in the spring, summer and fall but F winter) Now I am back in Houston (Champions Area)
Slums of Broadway all down telephone road Slums of greenspoint apartments Currently in Champions forest. My mom would bring me to garage sales as a kid and for Halloween. Loved the oak and pine trees. I want to gtfo but my wife wants to be near her dad.
Houston Southside place Taipei, Taiwan but have no memory of it. Houston Braeswood just south of West U. Riyadh, Saudi Arabia for 4 months Houston Fondren SW. Berkeley, CA Singapore, one year undergrad and one semester grad school Boston, MA Woods Hole, MA for a few summers Minneapolis, MN.
That is quite a story. Sorry to hear about your daughter’s mother but good that you have a relationship with your daughter.
~Hearne TX born there .. ~Lowestaft UK and Cork Ireland for 18 month as a toddler when father worked contract work as a tugboat captain - for some strange reason, I remember kissing the Blarney Stone, even though I was very young as a toddler .. ~Houston TX- grade 1 thru grade 2 ~Huntsville TX / grade 3 until grade 9 - probably met @boomboom and didn't even realize it/ Huntsville was one of my favorite times as far as childhood memories- I didn't graduate the high school, but I got my degree at SHSU eventually back to Houston area- Humble/Kingwood/Atascocita area included - lived in : graduated from Kingwood met my wife because of a Rockets after work party - Moved to Nashville area and established my own business where I am currently/ I keep up with sports radio through the Audacy app and definitely a Texans fan although my interest in the Rockets has waned unfortunately
