Why don't we listen to what Ashley Biden herself said about the mischaracterization of the contents of her diary?

“The point of the theft, I assume, was to be able to peddle grotesque lies by distorting my stream-of-consciousness thoughts,”
“The defendant’s actions have created a constant environment of anxiety, fear, and intimidation in which my innermost thoughts are constantly distorted and manipulated..Repeatedly, I hear others grossly misinterpret my once-private writings and lob false accusations that defame my character and those of the people I love.”

Straight ticket voting is a scourge on our political system.

I have been challenging those who compare Trump to Hitler to name one candidate they would pick Trump over. Usually they can't name one, so they must compare him to the guy who shares the responsibility for massacring millions. The reality is there are well over a dozen people in congress who are much worse than Trump.

I recall Democrats claiming Bush Jr was the worst thing that could happen to this country.
I recall Republicans claiming Obama was the worst thing that could happen to this country.
I recall Democrats claiming Trump would take over the country and name himself supreme dictator and get us into WWIII.
I recall just a year ago when Trump was in complete disgrace and DeSantis was on the rise, DeSantis was worse or equally as bad as Trump.

The last eight years has been a dumpster fire when it comes to integrity. Trump walked into his presidency as a disgrace. Biden promised us honesty and integrity, and yet here we stand, Biden is an absolutely joke. Him and the Democrats are pissing and ******** all over what the Democrats have built over the last 80 years, thus proving they are no different than the people they ridicule.

We can absolutely do worse than Trump. And if both parties continue to put up some of the worse they have to offer and try to shovel a **** message of moral authority down the Americans throats, we will eventually get there.

What were the thoughts of the 13 year old that Trump repeatedly raped with Epstein, where were the thoughts of the 26 women Trump groped and sexually assaulted, what were the thoughts of the Children who got screwed because Trump ripped off a children's charity, or the thoughts of those that went to Trump University and got scammed, or what were the thoughts of Trump as he laundered money through his Casinos?

Comparing Biden to Trump is like saying stealing a pack of gum is the same as murder because they are both against the law.

Trump is the WORST President of all time, and should be in prison for January 6th as he led a group trying to overturn a lawful election.....where Trump should be is at best....in prison.

    It is odd.

    How old was she?

Her father is the one that she speaks the fondest about in her "diary".

They are conflating to try to justify the bile that fills their soul as they vote for a person they KNOW to be a Pedophile, rapist, conman, fraudster and convicted felon.

They have to try DESPERATELY to make it make sense....but they lack Integrity and Honesty so are able to magically think away their fauxtegrity.

The situation makes me think of Napoleon at Fontainebleu in April 1814.

DD seems pretty spot on. Trump is such a vile POS that it leads to people making up grand accusations onto others because of policy and Supreme Court/ other court appointees.

I said it several months ago. Electing Trump will bring a reckoning for the R party. It’s going hurt bad down the line.

This is a clear A - B test. We had 4 years of Trump. We will have had 4 years of Biden. Its the Democrat party that is in complete disarray.

Let the chips land where they fall.

You're missing the forest complaining about all the trees.

You think things wouldn't be this toxic and stupid if we just had better parties? Better voters? Hardly.

The rules of the game dictate the outcomes.

If you want better choices, create better incentives and systems.

I'd vote for a Hitler shaped dog turd if he promised us all ranked choice voting and open primaries across the board.

An interesting thing about the two parties and their voters...

Biden had a bad debate performance and showed his age and all the issues that go with it.

The Democratic response was that many in the party leadership, voters, donors, etc. Have called on Biden to step aside as the nominee.

Trump had numerous indictments for crimes, was convicted and is now a felon.

Republican leaders, voters, donors, and party decision makers have all rallied around him, and haven't called for him to step aside.

It is a pretty remarkable difference between the two parties.

It's pretty remarkable for as flawed as Trump is and covered in as much mud as he is, he's still, by every pundit I've heard and every measure I've seen, doing extremely, extremely well.

People are talking about Trump not only winning every swing state but winning places like Maine, New Mexico, Minnesota, Nevada, Virginia etc etc which would just be remarkable.

David Axelrod said he think's its just as likely Biden wins a narrow race as it is Trump wins in a landslide... which leaves the largest possibility being Trump simply wins comfortably ...... and that's one of the most experienced and cogent Democratic election people you could possibly find.

The difference in the treatment is the Republicans who run the party believe Trump didn’t do anything wrong. They believe the conviction was a false witch hunt. They believe Jan 6 never happened. They believe the 2020 election was a fraud. Their voices are loud.

Democrats on the other hand know what’s at stake. Unfortunately their voices are being gaslit and silenced by Biden.

I’ll be voting Trump in a swing state that Biden won.

    Best of luck America.

You say this like its rational or in any way remotely true. I guess self-awareness can sometimes be a burden.

Biden has lost Paul Krugman as well

Please, Mr. President, Do the Right Thing

    https://www.nytimes.com/2024/07/08/opinion/biden-trump.html

    excerpt:

Do we know that Biden could achieve as much for America by stepping aside now? Of course not. And we know that if Harris replaces him — at this late stage, it’s hard to see a plausible alternative — she’ll face her own wave of smears and innuendo. But she’s smart and tough, and the ugliness of the predictable attacks on her sex and race could backfire.

In any case, Biden is clearly damaged goods now, and if he insists on running, it seems all too likely that he, and possibly the future of our democracy, will lose. There’s no question in my mind that the president is a good man who loves his country. And as such, I hope he’ll do the right thing and step aside.

Not sure this is a ringing endorsement of the GOP. At least vocal constituencies in the Democratic party are demanding something better now.
