While there’s a lot about his offense I’m pleasantly surprised about… at this point it’s not good enough that you can be like “ok he can’t shoot but he’s a great passer so let’s let him be that!” in other words… he really needs to get a lot better at shooting to fast track his PT. Which I really really hope he can do. his form isn’t useless. It looks like it can get there. But those three pointers were way way off. If he was 7 feet it wouldn’t be the end of the world. But at his height, even with his wingspan and defense, in the nba, he will have to be able to space the floor otherwise we’re talking 10 mpg in spot minutes when you really need defense and energy.
Does anyone know where’s D-rock? Seems like so long ago from his last post.. I think he’ll ecstatic with Amen Thompson defense (and of course Udoka as a coach)..
Garuba is fine but he isn’t lighting up the league any time soon and those clips don’t necessarily make me feel any different.
He had a good tournament again. Beating Bahamas with E-Go, Ayton, and Buddy Hield is no joke. Santi Aldama was the MVP, though. Great job by MEM picking him at #30 in 2021. Better pick than Garuba at #23.. Caribbean Region was avenged in the other tournament by Puerto Rico beating Lithuania with Sabonis and D-Mo... So no Lithuania, Slovenia, or Croatia in Paris '24
He just dashed Eric Gordon's hopes of representing his mother's country in the Olympics. I never want to see him in a Rockets jersey again.
Whoever teaches that man to shoot will have a contender level rotation player. Wasn’t that far off, must be close. Garuba doesn’t seem to be a hard worker off the court though except when he’s playing for Spain. Hasn’t improved much since being drafted.
There have been rumors for a long time about him returning to Real Madrid (I am a spaniard), but it is no longer clear as Real Madrid is also expected to sign Serge Ibaka
Is it time to bring up @Mathloom 's greatest Usman Garuba hits? "Draymond with more lateral quickness"
