What will happen to KPJ?

  1. Miles Bridges 2.0, a 30 game suspension and the whole thing is pushed under the rug

    25.6%
  2. OJ Mayo 2.0: KPJ gets a massive suspension and is all but black-balled out of the NBA

    53.8%
  3. Aaron Hernandez 2.0: Bridges serves actual hard time

    20.5%

DD, I like your contributions as a longtime member of this forum…but this is disgusting. KPJ is a terrible human and should be banned from the league. How can you be so flippant about this?

I was a prosecutor for 4 years. You’re walking around in public with guys who beat the snot out of women, then the women get too scared to testify and the case falls apart. This isn’t justice and it’s overwhelmingly clear what he did. Your assessment is wrong

If KPJ was an amateur baller and did those things, the poster wouldn't care and he wouldn't even know him.

Wish he never played for the Rockets.

Because he didn't do what people think he did, he had an argument with his GF - and things got blown out of proportion, if you listen to what Kryse said, and that the police bungled the investigation and even made up injuries (broken neck) this looks like a black man railroaded by a dirty system.

So, unless someone has some actual evidence, REAL EVIDENCE -and not some "In your feelings" take......I am not going to join the anti-KPJ witch hunt.

He isn't a Rocket, but he isn't some wife/gf beater either.

I subscribe to innocent until proven guilty, and he pled guilty to basically nothing - misdemeanor assault and harassment (Arguing) - any physical violence, punching, shoving, hitting would result in a felony - this was a nothing charge, and people keep extrapolating out like he is Miles Bridges.

That did not happen at all. This is what is happening in this country, people just read some sensationalized news story extrapolate out their own "Alternative facts" and make up their mind without doing any actual research.

He walks away with no record, and not guilty, after finishing his last counseling session, they don't offer that if he actually hit her......or pushed her - those would be felonies....final charges were misdemeanors.....I know you guys OH SO WANT TO WHITE KNIGHT - but this isn't it.

IMHO, it was no more than a loud argument and overzealous police.

Now if you have any evidence at all - pictures, victim talking about it...anything that hasn't been found to be false or exaggerated, please post it.

    DD

This guy has never once answered this question... Why did her sister go online and basically threaten his life within an hour of the incident?

Over an "argument that got blown out of proportion"?

    Yeah that sounds logical.

Why is this thread in GARM??
He's neither on the roster nor are we trading for him.

    "
    Reckless Assault:

Reckless assault involves engaging in reckless conduct that causes physical injury to another person. Recklessness refers to disregarding a substantial and unjustifiable risk that results in harm. This offense is typically considered a misdemeanor, but in certain circumstances, it can be elevated to a felony charge, depending on the severity of the injuries inflicted."

So he literally pled guilty to physically injuring her, and you think that means he didn't physically injure her? This is why nobody takes you seriously, you're completely and utterly intellectually dishonest. It makes you appear morally bankrupt to continuously and consistently defend spousal abuse, and then to try and lawyer that support away with rank misrepresentation of the facts. It's actual scumbag **** tbh.

True -- however in this case the victim went through a lot to have her message heard regarding the DA manipulating evidence, and appears genuine when listening to the 13 minute interview. The real injustice is the corruption in the DA office and PD with qualified immunity; which I don't think DD even realized he was advocating for. If KPJ had his nails painted black DD would be silent.

I also agree this should be removed from GARM with him already signing.

The league should just talk to DD. He didn't do anything, he just pled guilty to a verbal argument, that's all. Nothing else happened. League has no evidence even if KPJ pled guilty to actual physical assault, because that's not what actually happened per DD. The NBA should in fact pay back KPJ the money he lost from being waived.

Is there a single person that refutes that he got physical with his girlfriend? The degree to which is undefined. It is likely that there were aspects of it that were over-reported. But his conduct was improper.

The threshold to get a lynch mob going after a person forever is a lot lower than most would expect with a certain type of person.

I don't think thats the case. I think the question at hand is, if you have served your punishment; lost a yr in the NBA, lost $70M and completed his probation, why do some people still want more blood??

Lets put yourself in his shoes. If you were found guilty of a crime, served your time, completed probation or whatever, would you want the right to move on from that incident??

The LAW states that is your right but apparently, that's not how some on CLUTCHFANS.NET see it.

Oh I generally agree. The thing that I am pointing out, is that a couple people were so hell-bent on their Porter positive narrative that they just negate to acknowledge a few things that are reality.

    Reality
-He put his hands on her
-It was over reported (IE broken neck) but still was physical assault
-She shielded him, as victims often do.

these are just elements that are related to the domestic assault. I think in regards to the team the organization knew that this was just part of the saga and we’re probably pretty happy to just go ahead and move on.

Yes, they did get into a physical altercation, in which he hit, shoked or abused her to some degree. I think that point has been made.

However, I think once a person has paid their debt to society, which has done with everything he has lost, it should be over with.
