All of the rain (literally all) is now forecast to go directly east of us, like there's a barrier on the county lines...booo

Good luck to yall down there.

And it's relatively slow. That's what I don't like for y'all. Like, nobody down there needs another flood.

I'm in Harris, but the very west part. Live in Cypress. So yeah feels like we're getting hit hard by this.

I'm most concerned about a prolonged power outage. My neighborhood in Mo City didn't flood during Harvey while much of Sienna was underwater.

In The Woodlands, if my **** gets knocked out they will have it back up before the house gets warm.

I was at Crystal Beach last 5 days, around noon today tide was really getting high

Moving at a good clip. 12 mph. It’s not one of those plodding storms fortunately

Even though the news isn't positive, we are somewhat lucky because there was potential for this to be much worse.

If it had passed more through the Yucatan Channel rather over the Yucatan Peninsula, it would have kept more of its strength and would be aimed slightly higher on the Texas Coast than it is.

A Category 3 passing over Galveston - Bolivar Peninsula would be much more trouble than the current situation.

Friend of mine who works at UTMB in Galveston

“They declared emergency status today at 1, all clinics in area closed tomorrow. 4-6 foot surge, up to 12" rain, wind sustained 45 gust to 65. Galveston issued a voluntary evacuation of west end”
