    This was as sure of a thing as any "word" that comes down the pipe - that Murphy wouldn't be back. No matter what happened with the case he wasn't going to return.

    Regarding Cooper though, it's such an odd situation that I can't comment too much on it. Given Tim's posting, it's probably safe to say she won't be the color analyst, and in that event I'll take my lumps for saying she would be. After Tim posted I wasted a solid week digging deeper on that scoop, calling a lot of people (still hard to believe I wasted that much time on such a trivial matter). I knew the sources who gave me the information were excellent, but my conclusion in the end though was that the initial source may have jumped to a conclusion that seemed logical given a new development, but wasn't quite 100% as it was communicated to me. That she is not or was not a candidate for the position is not accurate though and I'll leave it at that. There were a lot of Cooper rumors floating around there for a few weeks before that.

    BTW, no one cares for Cooper. No one. She is Les' boy ... err, girl. Hand-picked for that position.

    If I was to guess, I'd say they will bring in someone we never imagined as the color analyst. I don't think it will be Bullard.

    SR 610 Said it will be Van Chancellor doing color commentary, personally I can not stand his voice. He sounds like a sissy. I know that's opening myself up to flaming but whatever.

    oh gosh please tell me its not van chancellor

    i think we should go outside the box of cooper, van, and bull

    although out of the 3 i'd take bull, if its cooper or van i simply won;t be able to listen to the tv broadcast (ill turn the radio on and mute the tv) and i'm really not that picky about my broadcasters

    Well I am obviously in the minority, but I didn't care for Calvin as a commentator. I respect his knowledge of the game, but he spent much to much time talkinga bout non basketball issues; cookies, nice old ladies, clothing, bickering with his Bill, taping hans with the players, etc. I ffelt his stick got in the way of the brooadcast.

    Me, I like dry nuts and bolts guys. People will explain the x's and O's and tell me what to look for by both teams. I really appreciate in depth scouting reports of our opponents.

    If we get somebody that none of us are expecting, how about Jim Peterson. He does color for the Wolves. He filled in one game last year (I think Calvin had a dry cleaning emergency) and did fine. He is an ex-Rocket.

    That is just horrible. If he did what he was accused of, he needs to be put away in a very dark place and be forgotten.

    I can't stand Van Chancelor. He's so country. I wish there was some kind of way we could steal Kenny Smith away from TNT, but we all know that job is too good to him. Call me crazy, but I'd like to see Mario Elie get in the booth if he ever stopped coaching.

    I hope he would return. Everybody seems to like his show style. Sadly, there is no guarentee he will win all the nine law suits against him. Too many mothers involved.

    If there is anyone that can make me respect women's hoops, it may be Chancellor.

    I still think I can find a group of 6th graders to beat the WNBA champions :D
