Hey All, This year I am checking off Vegas Summer League from my "Getting Buckets List". I will be there from Friday 7/12 - Monday 7/15. Who will be in town? I would love to meet up and sit with some fellow Clutchfans.
So freaking jealous. I am about 3 hours away, and very tempted to leave the fam and drive down Friday morning, haha...
This is good advice. And if you want a great punk dive bar, Double Down Saloon across from campus. Can walk from Thomas and Mack. Worth the effort if you like that kinda thing.
Your mission, should you choose to accept it. is to zoom in on management's cell phones from behind. This post will self-destruct in 10 seconds.
Seriously. If you're on the fence, just do it. But to be honest, you should have done it years ago when it was absolutely amazing. But it's still really good!
That entire thing was a blast. If it were out there, I'd probably go again for kicks. The one thing that they changed from back then that I don't like is that you can't sit right behind Kevin McHale talking crap about a player to other NBA dudes or shake Rudy's hand as he's leaving his seat in the bleachers. Obviously they did it for safety reasons, but man, those were the best times at Summer League games. Well, that and the fact you could pay something like $10 to watch several games. lol.
This is totally doable. I would suggest staying at the Golden Nugget (assuming this is where the Rockets will be). My brother took me for my birthday a few years back, Jabari and Tari's first Summer League, and it was amazing. We stayed at the Four Seasons, brother is like that, and were surrounded by Trail Blazer players, 76ers, and Magic if I remember correctly. Not sure on the last one. Anyway, every morning and evening there were meetings happening in the bar area. Bumped into Morey my first day there and was constantly running into Mario Elie and other players, trainers, and execs. At one point on the elevator, one of the young Portland players was talking about his sore hammy and one of the staff gave him the "cut it out" gesture. I'm wanting to go back and if I could afford it I would do it this year. If you have never been, you need to go. It's a basketball fans dream. And if you aren't into the Vegas strip there's plenty of other things to do. I'm not sure what it's called but there's a collection of in door breweries and distilleries near Meow Wolf Las Vegas. Could spend all day there.
Live in Vegas for work, going back from houston end of next weekend so will catch the games the following week!
