Damn, you could just feel that coming. O's bullpen ****ed around today, and woke that shitty M's offense up. Hopefully it isn't something that lasts.
O's bullpen and defense was a let down and probably will cost them this game. The bullpen guys kept pitching from behind in counts.
Never like bringing someone into a base loaded situation, should have left the other guy in to see if he can clean up his own mess.
I think Meyers and Pena need to hit 8th/9th, or 7th and 9th if Dubon is in the lineup ( guess where he hits?) Altuve, Tucker, Alvarez are a great 1-3 Bregman should be 5th or 4th depending on where the next best bat fits . Diaz and the final player hit 6th/7th. Again which is where is TBD by the ability of that final player ( again Diaz is 6th if it's Dubon) I think we agree on this. What I don't want is Yordan or Tucker EVER moved out of the top 3, Pena EVER out of the 9th spot, and Dubon 8th when he starts. Meyers should always be 7th or 8th.
If the Astros bring in a lefty bat, like Pederson, O'Hearn, Winker, etc. He will hit 5th and Alex 4th. If it's a RHH like Vlad, Walker, Rooker, etc then he hits 4th and Alex 5th.
Mariners avoided the sweep.,, smh Sometimes, when you're playing poorly, the *least* thing you can do is avoid being swept. Astros have suffered sweeps 5x this season. 1) Yankees (4-game), so that counts as 1 1/2 2) Royals 3) Braves 4) Cubs 5) Seattle (lost a 4-game), counts as 1/2 If the Astros could have avoided 3 of those sweeps, their record would have been +6 in relation to 500 since April -- and their current record would be 48-39 (45-42 --> 48-39... +6, 500-wise). Their worst records would have changed ((7-19 ---> 10-16 (12 --> 6.... +6) and 12-24 ---> 15-21(12 --> 6... +6)). Avoiding the sweep is just as powerful as getting sweeps.
You are missing my point. Go get a middle of the order bat at 1st and a better bat than Jake and Pena in LF.
Who knows, it's a strange mandate. Dubon 9th makes the most sense. Kinda like getting another leadoff hitter but at the bottom of the lineup. Altuve Bregman Alvarez Tucker Diaz Singleton (he's actually earned it) Pena Meyers/McCormick Dubon/McCormick
Ideally Pena is the lowest wRC+/OPS+ bat in the lineup. He can be good. Above average even, but the more better hitters the Astros have the better. He has speed to maximize opportunities when he is on base for the top of the lineup. Altuve hitting behind him helps him get better pitches.
