It's weird that we were trying to trade for Mikal Bridges (27yo) half a year ago but now we won't even try to trade for Lauri Markkanen (also 27yo). So that tells me the front office has supreme confidence in Jabari developing into an elite player and/or Jalen Green is a bust. I'm still of belief that JG won't be on this team next off-season. Either traded or let him walk unless he wants to stay for a lesser role and small contract (unlikely)
We had Fade for Cade. But what if I told you, we can have No mas for Tomas. Tomas Scola, 2027. It doesn't get more homegrown than that.
I made a poll to flesh this out. I don't think the pessimistic contingent is as small as you think, We will see.
Oh dude, it seems nothing is going to save you from that crow buffet you’re heading towards. You go ahead and cherry pick your poll and hilariously let people decide for themselves “objectively” wether they are pessimists or optimists. Here’s chapter 8 , before the big month going Nova with 58% of the board believing in my description that he will be a STAR: https://bbs.clutchfans.net/threads/chapter-8-green-goes-nova.322614/
That poll is as non-biased as one can possibly be. And you don't think people can decide on their own whether their objective or not about Jalen Green? Congratulations, you just insulted the entire forum! Good grief. Your poll was in March during his hot streak. And you accuse me of cherry picking? Really?
A simple yes/no poll on whether you believe he's going to be a star. 58% said yes. That was not his hot streak. Read the thread. The streak came later.
Much of the voting certainly came later as well. There is no closing date for that poll. Folks can still take the poll today.
Just want to point out that this is a bit of a fib by Stone, they know they can't keep all 7 - contracts won't allow it, but easier to just say this now...rather than be truthful. DD
I think you hang onto Green for now to see whether he makes a leap forward and, if not, you trade him at the deadline for a team looking to make a run in the playoffs. By mid to late season Stone will know whether to extend his contract or trade him.
I'm not saying Jalen is some below average hack. He's extremely athletic, to be sure. He's long and stretchy in the paint with underrated strength in the air. I watched the entire video and with only one exception, still steadfastly hold to my assertion. I saw lots of high pick action and lots of teammate assisted separation. Not that anything is wrong with that for it is, after all, a team game. My point about separation is addressing when Jalen is 1v1 or 1v2 etc. I would like to see a consistent jabstep or hesi creating poorly or uncontested shots. I keep hearing about his lightning quick first step, but don't see it used consistently and successfully/dominatingly enough.
Of course, but trading everything for a mercenary superstar is different than developing a few franchise pillars in-house, and then trading for a superstar ON TOP of those developed stars. Synergy over time... The synergy that Udoka builds and develops among these guys is something to be excited about, and not everyone needs to be a max guy.
Jalen Green creating separation is the least of his problems. Ineetly I don't know if you are gaslighting He split like 3 double teams in that one single game.
Of course they're gaslighting, it's been their MO for 3 years and convinced half the forum their best prospect is a bust, why would they stop now?
If your shot is inconsistent, good defenders will take a step back making it harder for the offensive player to get around no matter how fast they are until the offense player can prove they can hit. That’s why it’s crucial that Jalen improves his shooting. His whole game opens up even on nights he’s shooting just decently.
I think we tend to ignore the immaturity of youth in the players we like to denigrate. These are relatively kids being put on a national stage. Some are ready, some need time to mature into it. I’m willing to wait. Even for Jalen…especially for Jalen.
