    I know @leebigez played D1 ball.

Just curious, why don't you like the pick?

Well, great basketball players aren't always great talent evaluators. ;)

Not sure why they are doing that. Athletically he’s probably on par with Lillard. Very good athlete

Mark Price was a BAAAD dude.

if Sheppard is as good as him, then hell yeah the Rockets will take it and consider it a home run pick.

I'm looking for clear advantages in the game. I don't have a problem with Reed as much as a matchup especially in the west now and in the future. Now if in some world you see Reed playing with Thompson. You see who he's gonna have to guard? Morant ,Kyrie, Shai, sitting in your way. I also see Darius Garland in the west in the near future. I preferred Edey even when posters were talking about him in late 1st or 2nd rd, yet he went 9th. Now that's a guy the smallish Rockets have to defend at the rim, through screens and such. I hope I'm wrong or Sheppard is everything we think he can be.

So, are you saying both in the backcourt simultaneously, while Jalen is not on the floor?

How about Sheppard at the 1, Cam at the 2, Amen at the 3 and Jalen not on the roster at all?

I'm thinking that's what the future has in store for the Rockets and it's a bright future

It’s funny how excited people on here are just to get a guy who can actually put the ball in the hoop. I guess we’ve been deprived long enough. I’m thrilled with the pick too, but I hope people aren’t expecting too much right off the bat from a rookie.

Really, really excited for Shepherd. He’s more of an underrated passer than we think. He and Amen and Sengun together on the floor is a BBIQ clinic.

So all the trade down and Clingan talks were smokescreen?

I think they were more to give the Spurs false belief that Sheppard would be there at 4 so they wouldn't trade up to get him. Time will tell but punting #8 instead of using it to trade up in this draft might prove like a really stupid decision (almost as dumb as taking Josh Primo over Alperen Sengun).
