It’s crazy. I’m one of those people that, when I was younger, couldn’t conceive of those sort of long-term relationships outside of my grandparents and some vague number.

It’s honestly been the best 20 years of my life, again, not something I thought I would enjoy as a kid- having kids, working hard to stay together and build myself and my career in spite of a **** childhood.

It really is work, but it’s worth it. I married my best friend and it’s stayed that way. Here’s to 20 more…then I’ll get divorced and marry a trophy wife decades younger than me.

I've been married with my wife 24 years, dated and known her for 7 before that. Best friend ever for me and given me beautiful children and a beautiful home life. Congrats to you and your significant other.

PS: Don't get divorced, ain't worth it. Those young ladies are a hassle, you just don't remember because it's been so long.

Congrats! 20 years is a big deal!

We're on year 16. Like you said, sometimes it's not easy...but it's totally worth it. There's nothing better than knowing you have a partner who will have your back - through thick and thin - for the rest of your life.

    Congrats to you too, bro.

Yeah, no thanks on younger women. Really, anyone other than my wife. But if it came down to it, outside of a fun night, I wouldn’t be interested in anyone under 35, and that age ticks up the older I get.

I nearly hit 20 with my first wife.
Got divorced after nearly 20 years of marriage. My friend kept trying to push me to date younger but I resisted. Ended up meeting my now wife on the day I signed the papers back in 2020. Been married for 2+ and happier than I ever was with the first.

    CONGRATS

A good woman saves a man a heap of problems. It's becoming more difficult to find one nowadays in the Western World who is a 6+ in beauty -- too much social media influence, unrealistic expectations, empowerment, sexual liberation, and arse-kissing in family court.

    Mazel tov.

Been with my wife since '98. I'm going to submit her name to the Catholic church for canonization for putting up with all my bull**** for that long.

I felt the same way after dating a chick for 7 years and getting sick of her modern American entitled crap.

I thought I’d have to go overseas to meet a non-pretentious woman. Then I met my wife, country girl from small-town Indiana. Her mother was literally Amish as a little girl until my my wife’s grandparents on that side left the church. So my wife is super traditional, low maintenance and low-key. Locked it up.

Just passed 19 years here, but then, we were mortgaged before we were married. 25 all in.
