There are seriously ignorant people here. There are other places outside the USA, maybe get out a little.
The irony is that all these small countries with a 2 million population they're making fun of still have a better team than the US.
If soccer was the #1 sporting priority in the US, and not like 7th, I think we could have a pretty, pretty, pretty good national program/league/team.
I'm from Europe and even here, people mix up Slovenia and Slovakia sometimes. https://www.bbc.com/news/world-europe-43419675
Hypothetical US forwards... Striker Lamar Jackson, LW Christian McCaffrey, RW Tyreek Hill -- and they've all been playing together since elementary school in select programs. ... Anyways... Austria v Turkey just got interesting.
That was a good game. A good come back for the terrible game against Austria. Gakpo is just a good player.
Not really, Slovenia was part of Yugoslavia, Slovakia was part of Czechoslovakia. They seperated peacefully while Yugos went to war. Not really Yugos either that was a nationality made up by the communists (only less than 10% identified as Yugoslavs). N those were usually the "mixed kids", Serbs marrying Croats, Bosnians etc. N vice versa
i dun think klopp even used gapko in elefsee. is he like hood melo where he excels when playing for country but suxs at the club level?
That save by the Turkey keeper was one of the best I've ever seen. Not only in difficulty but in the moment. Almost literally the last touch of the game to preserve the 1-goal win. It was a fantastic game. Really thought Austria would get to the quarters.
