Klay thompson is barely an upgrade over tim hardaway jr who they couldnt wait to ditch. This move does nothing for the mavs. This is a name only signing.
In 20 years people will still remember the Splash Brothers when talking about the Warriors dynasty. The Donkey? Maybe, maybe not.
I personally think Klay will have a crazy year with Luka. As much as I hate it, I think Luka is going to revive Klays shooting.
This dude may be ass nowadays against other teams, but he always lights it up against the Rockets. Hope that he's lost his rocketkiller mojo or that we won't play the Mavs too many games this season.
Klay was bad last year because he got demoted to the bench So he was trying to do too much whenever he got to play But with the Mavs assuming he starts he can go back to focusing on off ball movement, making his threes off Luka and Kyrie passes, and play defense
I don't know why a lot of people here think Klay is trash. He is not in his prime form anymore. But he still scored 18 ppg at respectable efficiency last season. That's a pretty good starting SG material. His defense has fallen off a lot though.
Let's be honest. We would all be majorly surprised if Dallas goes back to the Championship The understated move of getting Harty helped OKC alot imo I don't think the Wolves are going anywhere Dallas is currently 3rd in my list nuggets/Lakers/Warriors/Clippers = Playoffs but not contenders to me Rockets/Suns/Kings/Grizzlies = may surprise some people Rocket River
QUESTION: Does Klay make them better defensively? Is he even still the shooter he was? how much does he move the needle? Rocket River
I think OKC getting Hartenstein actually helps us a lot. Another non-shooter that we can throw Alperen/Adams on, or even Amen to play linebacker. The more teams that play giant Klutz’s the better. We will win those battles IMO.
Harty's motor against Adams and Alperen is a concern for me. I can see him being an offensive rebounding machine Rocket River
He still has some good shooting games but his defense is pretty much washed after the injuries. That's the main reason, I think, the W's let him walk. You can have an old dude next to Steph if the old dude can defend, but otherwise, you have a totally permeable backcourt, haha.
That was kind of my concern for Dallas Kyrie - Klay and Luka Can they make the middle of the road backcourt defensively Rocket River
He still shot 40% from 3 at high volume in the past two seasons. But he's no longer the defensive player he used to be before the injury.
