Adding one more guy in the bullpen and finding a taker for Montero even if it means giving up a prospect to rid themselves of salary should be on the table.

Maybe there is something to the concussion thing.

Almost the all star break and Jake Meyers has been the fourth most valuable Houston Astro this season. He ranks fourth in the league at CF by positional split. Remember when he was a glorified 4th OF? Those were the days.

I don't think Abreu is personally to blame, but playing a guy in a tough season like this when he clearly doesn't have it and is actively hurting the team every time he sets foot on the field can't be good for the clubhouse no matter how Abreu happened to personally behave. It just has to add to the feelings of stress and anxiety that are not good for baseball players.

but... but... but... his ARM! No need to throw out runners if there were no runners in the first place.

Yes, playing Abreu was actively hurting the team. His bad “vibes” weren’t preventing Hunter Brown from being an ace or responsible for 1.5 ERA difference in pitching though.

The difference in win loss records is more extreme for Tucker, so if that’s the “proof” it was Abreu affecting the clubhouse in some intangible way then Tucker has even worse mojo.

I would disagree that he's the 4th most valuable Astro.

The pitching has finally come around and Diaz has picked it up with the bat.

I bet you do, but sometimes it's best to let sleeping dogs lie.

After April I had said we need a month as good as April was bad in order to save the season, that happened.

I also said we will need a second month as good as April was bad to surpass the field and be in playoff contention. Between July, August, and September, we have three months to work with to make one of those explosive months happen. It doesn't have to be right now, but at a minimum they cannot have another bad month. Play well for two months, play extraordinary for one month.

Tucker, Altuve, Alvarez, Blanco have been clearly better to all, but the most strict FIP-believers (i.e., those that don't believe the Astros and Dodgers haven't figured out something about managing quality of contact)

Not sure if I want the Astros to get the Rangers sloppy seconds.

Fair. But he never actually played for the Rangers. He signed a minor league deal which he just opted out of. I think he’s worth a look.

Just saw the highlights to yesterday's game and Hunter Brown is finally starting to look like the heir to Justin Verlander.
