We smashed the rangers at the end of the season and took the division. We thought they were dead. We went up on the Rangers 2-0 in the ALCS. We thought they were dead. **** that team.
Well he had 67 RBIs in his last 80 starts of the regular season, batting 6th mostly and 5th eventually. Another 11 post season games, 13 more RBIs. I don't think anybody in their right mind would dismiss summarily 80 RBIs over a 91 game stretch. That's elite Yordan Alvarez territory. You can't explain that away.
We lost the first 2 games of the ALCS. Remember, we repeated the same crap as the 2019 World Series? Couldn't win 1 damn home game in 4 chances.
What was his BA w/risp during that time? I honestly don’t know. I know that I never had any confidence in him last year. It’s a sad story. He had a great career. He will always hate how it ended. I know he gets the $$.
It’s going to be totally dependent on the score but I would be willing to bet we don’t see him if we are winning after Dubin and Martinez pitch.
I watched highlights and Framber's temper tantrum back. Man just unbelievably childish behavior slamming his glove to the ground instead of backing up Salazar who was scrambling for his bad toss. No one was covering home base.
Trey Cabbage drawing that 2-out walk after the pitching change and going down 1-2 in the count to pass the baton to Bregman was huge.
Breggy just barelyyyy fouled off that 3-2 pitch right before driving in the go-ahead 2 run single. The Mets announcers and all the Mets fans thought the inning was over.
Really wish we would go with Hunter today on regular rest and try to go to Toronto with yet another series win Plus, the Mets are on an Astros like streak and we need them to go on a really bad two week run here so Alonso will go on the market. I’m not necessarily saying we would go after Alonso but the more 1B on the market the better for us
Record - RUN-DIFF - EXWL Astros -- 41-41 -- +28 -- 44-38 Mariners -- 47-39 -‐ +8 -- 44-41 Astros have had plethora of injuries and still have a better EXWL. Seattluck is living on perfect health and winning 75% of close games. Astros are 4.5 behind, but the true outcome appears pretty clear. .
What it really shows is Verlander's injury is more than a sore neck. Astros have been fortunate with all the recent off days, but the record-breaking injuries to the SP has come to a head. Hell, Hunter might need an extra day just for load management purposes. The entire staff does, except maybe Framber <--- and even that's a maybe. I still don't believe Espada is maximizing his pitching staff with the lack of multi-innings from individual guys from the bullpen to decrease the starters' PC. Let's hope the baseball gods bless us with JV, Troy, Garcia, and Bloss' safe return. I'm fairly confident the Astros still win today if they get correct ball-strikes.
Dubin to Dana Brown after throwing 3 scoreless innings today: “Look at me. Look at me. I’m the starting pitcher now.”
