That is up to Jalen by playing well or Ime if he plays bad. Personally, I am giving him 10 games before I call for him to be benched if he starts off bad again. TBH, I have a good feeling about him this year and think he will do well.

Agree, the Magic made their own decision. And I don't understand why any sportswriter would imply there was subterfuge in it. When you have the first pick, you don't need to headfake anyone.

A no-defense Harden or a no-offense Simmons > doesn't surprise me it made no difference. Basketball is 50% offense and 50% defense.

I can see we differ on that. I agree they can be a non-disaster. I'm strictly saying they won't be max-worthy in this era. It will be interesting to see how Simmons performs this coming season and whether he'll be able to play like a top 30 player in this era.

He definitely needs to be more efficient. Better shot selection. No when to stop shooting, when to be more aggressive driving to the hoop and when to get others involved when his shot is off. Those things alone would increase his #'s. He has a lot to prove this year. I believe he will.

I’d like to see him come back as his former self and see how his play benefits a team. Unfortunately, I think he’s mentally checked out at this point. Amen is probably a pretty close resemblance to the player he was, and I’d be happy with that. If he’s taking one or two threes a game, I don’t think he has to get as high as 33%. I’d be ok with high 20s rather than the 13% he shot last year. Simmons completely removed it from his game rather than working on it, which was probably not the right decision. I think Amen will put in work.

He's not a great defender but he isn't a poor one either ..... and he did shoot .363 from distance with an eFG of 53.7 and TS% of .571.

I'll take that over Banchero's numbers.

(I'd rather have had Chet than either of them)

I'd rather have a healthy Chet, but I'm skeptical he won't have a Ralph Sampson or Yao Ming like injury history.

He's going to have to put some weight on and adopt a game like Durant away from the banging in the paint.

Ya less games played with less minutes and less usage means your on/off numbers will be noisy and chaotic without telling much... You do know that right?

It's the same thing. If he was at the top of your list you'd draft him over Risacher, over Sarr, over Castle etc Thats what being at the top of your list means and I dont see how saying someone is at the top of your list is diplomatic but saying you'd pick Sheppard over Sarr is undiplomatic. If Stone will take Sarr over Shepard then Shepard isnt the top of his list its Sarr, right?

Maybe you can explain the difference to me.

Exactly. People don’t understand this well. Jabari and Reed Sheppard are both I believe these type of players. They will both hopefully be rockets for the next decade.

How has Tari been better than Jabari? Serious question. Bari had a solid .57 TS% and improved across the board. Eason really didn't improve substantially in any area last season (aside from his 3 shot), he's two years older, and his TS% percentages have been putrid: .52 both season. I am stunned how many on this forum just ignore his inefficiency. Maybe he'll prove me wrong this season, but I just don't see what others see.

Pretty cool to have a 40" vertical, sharp-shooting, plus-defender, Bobby Sura Jr on the team.

You can count the Rockets' sharp-shooters over the past 2 decades on one hand, while missing 3 fingers.

Amen becoming Simmons without the mentals would be tremendous. I mean we’re talking a multiple all-NBA superstar…
People forget he was talked about as the LeBron heir…
