It's crazy he wasn't a starter on that team. Just goes to show their coach wasn't great, especially with the difference in the team with him on vs off the court.

It's because he promised other players starting spots and Reed was chill about it. Still managed to get drafted 3rd overall. That bodes *incredibly* well for how he's going to fit into the team.
I said it before, we are going to be real steal machines. Tari, Amen, Reed, FVV, Alpi are all steal gods at their respective positions.
I get that, but it's not a winning mentality. I hope that if he proves himself in Houston he gets to start.

I’m also hearing a ton about his outlet passing any vids or breakdowns about that part of his game? Seen a tweet about Reed going to unlock that part of Amen and Jalen game as well because it mentioned in the tweet how FVV wasn’t so good at it…
I think Reed is really underrated as a passer. I think even some people that compliment his passing are underrating how good of a passer he is. If he is able to use his dribble to draw defenders and he has a high enough usage as a primary ball handler I believe he will be a top assist guy in the NBA. As a passer he not only is very accurate getting the ball to his teammates, but he also has excellent vision and IQ. He's able to see guys 1-2 defensive rotations ahead. He's shown the ability to freeze defenders with his eyes and subtle movements to create baskets for his teammates. But he also isn't afraid to just make the simple pass to move the ball. I've posted this before, but here is a video of all of his assists: Notice a few of things in the video. His ability to initiate the offense(You can see he is clearly treated as the PG on almost all of those possessions), his ability to make accurate full court passes, how well he passes on the break and his ability to penetrate and find teammates.
There are some examples in Youtube or Twitter video clips. My colleague who went to UK like 30 years ago and has watched pretty much all their games ever since swears he has never seen a better outlet passer than Reed.
He played the 3rd most minutes, more than 3 of the 5 starters. (And there are still people who try to label him as a "bench player" and use it to prove his unworthiness of the #3 pick. SMH)
I don't like the cherry pick stats either. But I guess the point of the top 3 thing is that high draft picks are usually offensive talents and defense is usually not what gets them to the top.
