I mean if we are playing that game Jalen Green had a 42/10/4 game on 60%3pt shooting....or a 27/6/4 month... Wemby also put up 15/18 rebounds/5 blocks against Sengun on a night where Sengun had 15/9 and 6 TOs....one game, one month, one matchup - what's the point?

I really like Sengun - he was a player I was hoping we would draft and he's the best player on this roster right now, but the SOFs are sooo freaking unbearable here that it makes me not enjoy his game because it always come with great hate if you suggest anything at all critical of Sengun...like he is a bad FT shooter, like he is largely ineffective more than 10ft from the hoop, like he is not particularly sound defensively defending in space. There is rarely an honest conversation about Sengun with a SOF because it always reverts back to a strawman argument about responding to things other people have said about Sengun rather than objectively saying - "that's a fair point - yeah, he should work on this part of his game - what he is doing today isn't good enough" or rather than saying "yeah, you know he is the best player on the team - but this also hasn't been a very good team for many years so are we sure he is max material in the same sense that a 'max player on a playoff team' is a 'max player'"?

Honestly I don't think I've ever hated a fanbase more. Don't even bother responding with a SOF response, I'll just block you.

100% the right take. Houston has the ability to make them wealthier than other teams - they shouldn't rush into it especially with a new CBA that invokes a harder cap. We gotta make the max deals we sign count and we have a lot of young guys on this roster - why not wait, see what Sengun and Jalen's leap looks like this year? See what Amen looks like, what Jabari, or Cam look like, etc. We need the flexibility because if you sign Sengun and Jalen to a max - it assumes you have a certain roster around those guys - but does that mean you can no longer afford Jabari, Amen, Cam, etc. I know we can't keep them all but when guys like Sengun or Jalen have the holes in their game they do - it means you have to keep a certain roster around them and in 3 years we won't have the current guys on rookie deals anymore so you better be damn sure your max deals don't hinge on having a team of high level players you can't afford to keep once they are off rookie scale contracts.

Sengun will get his Max from Houston or from another team.
He is miles away the best center in his generation and the best player in Rockets, comparing him with overarated Green is stoopid..

So I may be reading this incorrectly, but if either Sengun or Jalen make any of the 3 All-NBA teams this year, they would qualify for a the Super max because it is their 4th seasons?

    Is that correct?

I think it would be tough for Sengun and impossible for Jalen. Especially now that positions no longer matter. Just making sure that is still on the board.

According to this report it’s unlikely Rockets will extend Sengun and Green this season. Now we are hearing the Rockets are interested in trading for names including Zion, Booker, Mitchell. This likely means one of our 2 will go. Also likely management and Stone don’t see our 2 players as part of this team’s future and not confident about their development. This is intriguing as these 2 may be viewed as simply not good enough. What’s also interesting is those players mentioned as desired by the Rockets haven’t won anything or led any teams to anything great. And one of them is oft injured. disappointing.

It would also be interesting if the situation is reversed where Barnes is playing in the West facing all those elite centers with much better teams, and Sengun playing in Toronto in the East where there are fewer elite centers and many much weaker teams. I wonder how the career numbers would change.

You were already a poster during the period of the Church of the basketball god Morey. How was it compared to the SOFs this time?

If I understand the math correctly the rookie max, similar to what Scottie Barnes signed is around 25% of the team's salary cap per year, which means that we could very comfortably fit 2 of those should we want to. If either of them get All NBA this year (unlikely), that goes up to 30%. Right now I'd offer both of them something in the ballpark of the McDaniels or Vassel extensions which I think are around 20% or a bit less than that. Vassel was $135M/5years which would kinda feel like a bargain for both of these guys. By the end of that contract they'd be making half of what Jalen Brown is making. If they'd rather bet on themselves to go for the full max so be it but a small discount like that could be beneficial long term.

Morey fans were fine - just always wanted to pretend they also were smarter than everyone else. But GMs don’t do stuff often enough to destroy the board.

The worst was Lin. A bunch of people who didn’t even know who the Rockets were one month prior calling anyone who doubted Lin was Jordan 2.0 a racist.

After that, it is the Green Only Haters who are the most irritating now. Even the SOF come with positivity. The Green hate mob just pollutes every thread with the exact same hyperbolic crap and one-line pot shots over and over and over again. It’s nauseating and makes the board dull and repetitive.

Green made his bed, and showed his character with that video - nothing professional about that, who wants that on their team? Thats not the legacy of Hakeem or Clyde, nothing respectable or professional in his actions. He is a stain, will always be, thank God he isn’t the star he thinks he is - easier to get him off this team.

Which video exactly? Is this you signposting that your entire opinion of Green is based on your perception that he's gay and reinforced by your bigotry?
