Fox's new house in Cypress is almost done too. They installed the basketball court a few weeks ago. He could enjoy it year round.
Lots of players live out this way, was having lunch at a place a couple weeks back & Dennis Rodman was seated at the table next to us.
Great so we lose defense and gain offense. And we’d give up assets for that zero sum change. Are we playing musical chairs with the Kings? What’s the use improving our offense when our defense goes down the drain? We’re trying to get to top 10 offense and top 10 defense. We have to try to improve the offense without affecting the defense much since we are a top 10 defense and one of the worst offenses in the NBA. FVV is one of the best PG defenders. Fox is one of the worst PG defenders. What do you think is going to happen if we swap? Do you guys understand the reason why Kings can’t play defense is because Fox can’t stop any penetration and Sabonis is not an elite rim protector? Can’t you see the same exact thing unfolding here? Do you understand the way we became a top 10 defense is through our PG and SF hounding the opponent before they get to our rim protector and if we lose that we will be out of the top 10? For the 100th time, there was no point losing the past 3 years if we don’t end up with a tier 1 team. We could have just added players around Harden and Westbrook and capped ourselves at 50 wins. Why on earth do you think we tanked? So that we can make the playoffs once or twice? Ironically, Fox is the living microcosm for why you shouldn’t do this deal. The Kings waited 5 years for him to reach an acceptable scoring efficiency. 5 years he averaged the same shooting efficiency as Green’s first 3 years. Just be patient like the Kings and wait for Green or Cam. Then you don’t have to lose assets and you will understand we need defenders at the 1, 3 and 4 positions. Anyway Fox is a severely limited one way player and they have been trying to get him to play defense for 7 years. Udoka won’t be interested. If we’re going in this direction, would much rather have Trae Young who can average 30/10 with great shooting and has led a team further in the playoffs. Still, I’m not on board with Trae. Maybe if Green fails before the deadline and we replaced him with a two way SG who can shoot, then I’d consider an offense-only PG.
SMH. Man has All-NBA money and he spends it on a house in one of the worst places in the country. (I grew up in Cypress.) Maybe we shouldn't trade for him after all, his decisionmaking is clearly suspect
Just seeing the Dejounte Murray trade. Got traded for two mediocre picks and fillers. Frankly I would have traded FVV and 2 mediocre picks for him. He’s on a reasonable contract and can run fast with our young guys. Also Udoka likes him from Spurs days. Two way player who can pass and last season finally became a decent shooter. Great size, can guard SG’s too. We were even in touch with the Hawks regarding AJ Griffin so I’m sure Stone knew this was an option. I think the Rockets are higher on FVV/Green than most of you are ready to accept.
But FVV is a free agent after this year . That’s why I said him the trade . I love Jabari but it’s either him or someone else. I have been mostly on board with keeping this young core and letting them grow but we can’t pay them all . Eventually someone is gone
that is the only reason i havent given up on jalen yet. i think he's gonna follow a similar path, we must be patient.
@CCorn is a legendary name in the lamar circle. i've read about his legend in school newsletters. his story is that of strength, loyalty, and perseverance in the face of tyranny. he was also an IB champion during his tenure there.
Hawks dont want FVV they want a defensive guard who can play alongside Young. Jalen Green, picks and filler prob would've done it if our FO was willing.
No ****ing way. I actually think you'd probably be a cool person to have a drink with. We probably got off on the wrong foot. I know that I can be a complete *******.
I agree with your last statement. We will see if they are right or not. The last thing we need to do is give up anything other than mediocre assets for a small improvement around the edges.
I was a Redskin class of '85. 2027 would make you a sophomore so how do you have a join date of 2010? Sorry for being off topic. I don't see why the Kings would be trading Fox. *Edit* I don't keep up with the rest of the NBA much so I wasn't aware of his current situation. Just thinking they looked pretty good against us the other day. We would most likely want to have a package centered around Green...Kings would want it to be Sengun or Amen. Not sure what to think without seeing what they want.
