Anyway - I think that this was a good gamble by the Rockets.

Whomever they took at #25 was not likely ever going to play for the Rockets and most of the overseas guys now want to come over right away.

Griffin is a very talented basketball player and he is an elite shooter - and he is like 20-21 years old.

Most likely he ends up cut - but maybe he and Reed can stretch the court so that Green has better spacing.

Religious nonsense aside. I think this was a good value trade. A former first round pick 16th for the 44th pick. Quite cheap and if ime can coach him to his full potential we got a steal.

Hawks fans seemed to like him but he didn't fit an uptempo offense that Snyder wanted to run apparently.

Is he going to join Reed Sheppard at the press conference?

Speaking of press conference, when is that?

Looking back at the 2nd draft by the time the Rockets drafted the top prospects were already off the table - Johnny Furphy, Filipowski, Bona, Jrurisic etc The only big names left were Jamal Schead and Chomche. I really like Jamal Schead but he will get 0 chance to play with FVV, Amen and Sheppard at the 1. Chomeche is 2 yrs away from being 2 yrs away and Rox somehow got Nfaly as a 2 way anyway.

So in retrospect this was a great move by the Rockets as AG is better than anyone left at 44.

In addition, AJ Griffin is actually 13 months younger than Schead

This tweet...it's really dumb. Like maybe this is a relative of AJ level dumb. Like I don't think Gribanov is someone whose opinion I value dumb.

we were discussing AJ declaring Beyonce to be satanic or whatever...

so the convo was based on is he religious - or 'on the cray cray train'....

i'd like to know whether we're dealing with a Tebow - or a Kyrie...

    lol

There are diff kind religious nuts. Tebow is the worst kind cuz he is grandstanding and always bothers other people, Irving is the best because most of the stuff he does only affects himself like with his observance of Ramadan. I think the worst thing Irving has ever done that affects others is burn incense to avoid bad juju...thats not really all that different fron Lebron spreading chalk around every game.

Hopefully AG is more towards Irving than Tebow otherwise he will affect the locker room and should be cut.

I hate to say it but I'm not holding my breath on AJ turning into a rotation player. He's 3rd string right now with unknown degrees of baggage. Maybe they think that John Lucas can help him turn things back around with his life coaching or something but right now he's 3rd string at his position behind Jalen and Cam.

At 20 he is still finding himself. His dad was a pro and a current coach. He will get back on track. Welcome to H=Town! All ways launching forward!

He’s definitely worth taking a flyer on with a second.

Yes but I’ve never in my entire life heard that a shoot-only player can’t fit an uptempo offense.

Maybe they misspoke? Playing slow is where he’d actually struggle if anything. Requires more skill, more strength, more bball IQ.
