If we drafted Sheppard and Amen and in their year 2 and year 3 they’re not ready to take over the PG spot from FVV AND Green is a lost cause, we have bigger problems than Jalen Green. We have to fire the whole front office. Luckily I don’t think we’re heading in that direction.
Stone literally said he believes in G League no matter where a person is picked. They sent the 4th pick to the G league last year. Cam Whitmore was 5th on their board and he went too. Sheppard is almost certainly going to be in the G League.
Pretty sure Amen only went to the G League as part of rehabbing to game speed after injury. I expect Sheppard to go to G League as the Rockets likely don't want to have a 10 man rotation.
I mean if Ime Udoka doesn't believe in Jalen anymore, there's no reason to wait another year to figure out what our other guard prospects can bring. Especially if they want to trade for a star and therefore need to know who they may be willing to include in such a trade.
Right, I’m just saying if all those things you mentioned happened and our priority is “better keep 32 year old $42m FVV”, the headline will be everything is f*cked. As far as Udoka believing in Green, he clearly does already. However once the season starts belief is out the window and it’s all about production for Green.
Oh, I see. In that case I agree. I said that mostly because FVV supposedly said he's willing to stay on a smaller contract going forward. The Rockets brass apparently loves him. And after last season I can see why. So I figured if it came down to it, FVV at a smaller cap number or holding on to Jalen Green with a QO, then overpay for some FAs, they definitely choose FVV over Green.
I see what you’re saying but I think the only way that happens is if the absolute worst case scenario unfolds - Green is a train wreck to start the season - and in life the worst case rarely happens. If it does happen, sure I can see it but I also think they will rather spend the money on a better player than FVV even at a discount because we will be in need of players who can collapse a defense from the perimeter and those are the most expensive in the NBA.
As it should be since day one. Green has an excellent opportunity to make near maximum money 100’s of millions. He should produce.
I think Shepp plays a lot but g G league minutes this year. I love the pic, and I love the potential, I don’t necessarily see him being effective in the NBA this year. I could be wrong.
