No…no…no…STOP! Stop saying Jalen played like a SUPERSTAR in the 2nd half stretch, he played 1 month(March) and played against BAD TEAMS with no defense. In April, when they played good teams we went back to the same Jalen we all know.
Except the times he played good defenses. These are all how people downplay players they don't like. And define what a bad game is. Was this game against the Wolves? A bad game to you? Did you watch the game?
For Brooks, Landale, Tate, and 2 picks I say "hell yea!" If we had had PG instead of Brooks I think we could have easily added 5 wins to our total and playoff spot. The young core is still gonna be young for 3 or 4 more years. Then they are in their prime. PG is as professional as they come and someone to help shepherd the kids. He still has game and the kind of game that ages well. I hope we can do it without touching the core. Otherwise, no go.
This smells like it has been planted by another GM. Yeah you know that washed up player we have, people really need him!
I think he ends up on the Warriors. They pushed back Chris Paul’s guarantee date for a reason. Now it’s being reported Westbrook is not returning, Somthing is up.
Unless a young superstar is on the trade market, ie Anthony Edwards/Luka/Tatum/Shai I'm not interested. (none of them are obviously) At least until trade deadline. At that point I'd be ready to trade Jalen Green + picks if he's still super streaky for someone like Mitchell. Literally 0 reason to go after any star 30 or over. Now or ever
How the Rockets with a 19-22-year-old core should look at these 30-plus-year-old or injured players interested in being traded to the team.
There's no reason to really give up anything for him since he's a free agent so we really just have to match salaries. That'd be Brooks, Landale and Tate and I'd give them a 1st as charity. If it came down to it I'd be open to giving Tari cause we have a huge minute bottleneck at forward and I want Amen and Cam playing close to 30 mins next season but I'd rather just give them picks if possible.
I'm willing to give up combinations of: VanVleet Dillon Brooks Jeff Green Tate Steven Adams Jock Landale Amen Thompson Reed Sheppard ___________ Houston in: Paul George x Clippers in: Dillon Brooks Tate Jock Landale Jeff Green Amen Thompson Reed Sheppard __________ 1) VanVleet............Tyus Jones 2) Jalen Green.......Malik Beasley 3) Paul George.......Cam Whitmore 4) Jabari Smith.......Tari Eason 5) Sengun................Jalen Smith / Steven Adams Best thing about this is we can load manage Paul George during games while Cam Whitmore, Tari Eason and Jabari continue to get on the job training. **Sidenote: Jalen Green and Sengun get their extensions at seasons end. Which makes things harder to give Jabari his extension. Like Bregman, of the Astros....... probably lose Jabari when he becomes a free agent.
Everyone outside of us Rockets fans wants the Rockets to trade for a star on the wrong side of thirty, but they did not have to suffer through the Silas era. Haven't even seen this cadre of young guys play together for an entire year and really don't know yet what we have.
I think I would have to consider a Brooks, Jalen, and a pick package (pick, not picks, should be a top 4 protected as well) Van-Vleet / Sheppard Thompson / (Whitmore/Sheppard) or (MLE) George / Whitmore Smith / Eason Sengun / Adams Is a pretty nice team, and while George won't do a ton long term for us at his age, if you don't believe in signing Jalen to a big extension, we're not really losing much long term either.
I'll be celebrating our dynasty Get use to not being able to keep the core 6 together long term. One or two will be casualties of the cap just like Carlos Correa, George Springer and probably Bregman
