He’s a good player. Caught a couple Oregon games this year and he stood out. He was amazing in the tournament. Nice signing.
I'm not gonna be excited about a 2-way player until he can show more promise than Daishen Nix. But at least he's the type of player the Rockets should be looking into for sure.
This article talks about it in further detail. He tore his ACL 3.5 years ago and has had other knee issues whether they’re all related or not I’m not quite sure. https://247sports.com/college/orego...ain-to-lead-the-ducks-to-a-win-228744659/amp/
If he can stay healthy and develop a little bit of offense he’s going to really good for us. I always wanted RW3 before and Dante reminds me of him a lot (injury prone and all). I think Ime was/is a big fan of Timelord and likely had a large say in going after Dante.
13.7 BPA at Oregon last year. Perfect team because he can sit for a year and get healthy, then become the backup C. Perfect change of pace big to pair with Sengun, and will not need him to play big minutes for him to make an impact with the 2nd team.
In the old NBA, he's a first rounder all day long. In the modern NBA, and with his knees, it is what it is. I love the signing, but I'm not really expecting a lot from the guy unless he develops further. But that's kind of the point of a 2 way player. He will be a LOT of fun to watch in Summer League!
I like this pickup as the 4th (or 3rd, if we move Landale) center. Good contrast, to be used situationally.
