Rockets acquire AJ Griffin

This is the next KPJ-style reclamation project of the Rockets. But this is better cuz AG was literally a lotto talent 2 yrs ago. In college he was Reed Sheppard before RS, shooting 45% from 3 on 4 attempts a night while also being a solid defender.

Amazing trade by Stone. We have full roster so AG can recover and work his problems in the GLeague. He is still under contract for 2 yrs so thats enough time to evaluate him.

Look at Jalen Green from 2/12/24 - 2/27/24:

So while hurt, he's almost as good as Jalen when slumping....

 

Eh not a big deal, a nothing pick for a guy who likely won’t contribute, but at least he could be valuable.

I like this move despite the fact that it means my dream of bringing Jamal Shead to the Rockets is over…..FOR NOW!

 

Definitely a strong chance they don't pick up the 4th year option.

I bet they see it as a chance to take a look at him in summer league, camp, and preseason and if he really looks great (and mentally stable) with the change of scenery they may pick up the option.

Otherwise he'd be an end of bench body this year and extra expiring salary.
