They want that Stevie style, 19 seconds of cross over after cross over right before the shot. "Great. Exit velocity crap for basketball shooters." Seriously though, that was a good article. Shows how Reed is dedicated to his craft.
My feelings are that Reed @3 was too high. I know that's where many had him projected. He and Clingan were two of the safest picks in this draft, though. I'm certainly not seeing him as a bust in the NBA. Worst case scenario, the kid is a role player. But I definitely don't see him being Mark Price either. (he has some traits that are similar) The size, ball handling and lateral movement concern me. I will say this...his BBIQ/instincts/intangibles...they're off the charts. I'd commented about him being an undersized two, who could play SOME point. I do worry about him defensively. What kinda gets me is that I feel like we could have done more with #3. But all that goes to the curb now. He's a Rocket! So, it's time to bring it in, cheer him on, and hope for the best. Reed is gonna be an easy guy to root for too....just oozes class. Go Rockets!
I always give my initial honest assessment. Then say I'll try to withhold judgement for after 3 years. Because people may be 19, they don't all mature at the same time, though. Cam Whitmore has a body of a 25 year old while Jalen Green still has his ,19 year old body. Late bloomer. I'm not giving up on Amen at point guard....it's the majority that thought he was a point guard that seems to have given up on him at PG.
So far, I've only seen Zach Harper be down on the pick going so far as to call the Rockets one of his 4 losers in the draft to this point.
I mean even if they aren't a winner in his eyes, what in the world could he possibly think makes the pick bad? I can't see how anyone can see it as anything but neutral at worst
People have rose tainted history glasses on when it comes to the Steve & Cat days. I've watched quite a few games, especially before Yao came but even when he arrived, and that offense was 90% just god awful. It worked rarely and even when Steve in particular made a shot, a lot of times it was actually a bad shot that he just managed to make due to athleticism or luck. Harden triggered that PTSD so I never want that type of offense again and very happy last few champions or even more than a few were all teams without that type of offense.
Another cool side-bonus of Reed is he basically looks like a Disney channel/Nickolodeon character. He'll have the teenage white-girl demo on LOCK for jersey sales.
I don't know about this guy, but usually when a prospect person hates a pick it's because he really love someone else on the board. If he for instance think Castle is clearly a better player, then he'd obviously hate this pick.
Definitely with that drip and hair, that's kinda the point. He looks like he could be the lead in High School Musical: The NBA Years, or some sitcom where he has a female best friend with a "will they, won't they" dynamic. Can't let Green and Bari and all these tatt-crazy kids get in his head, this kid's a goldmine. Imagine all that "church girl" money comin in, we might not even need to do any Luxury Tax savings this time round!
