The Jalen Green experiment is over. We need to trade Jalen, Dillion, Uncle Jeff, Tate, and 1 FRP for Paul George
Bump 1 year... offer that kid 4 years, $48M with team option on year 4 - if he would take it. That would double his current salary & could lock a key front court player in at a cheap salary for 4 years. With pay days coming for our FRPs, it would be nice to have someone locked in "cheap" deal (~$12M a year). Fingers crossed, but with Tari & Adams unsure - Jalen would be a heck of a chess piece to have. Move Dillon for Isaac. Probably would cost a future FRP + maybe a 2nd. But would give more versatility to our defense and same if not better outside shooting.
I think Ime will still want to bring in another vet. I'm sure he doesn't care too much how. I have no idea what that looks like or what that does to the rotation. There aren't enough minutes for everyone as it is. I tend to think it's too soon for a consolidation trade but it's coming sooner or later. Interesting times for this roster for sure.
Washington is compiling draft picks. 2 - srp’s and Brooks for Brogdon. That frees up 30 mins for Amen, Tari, and Cam at SF. Tari also gets time at Pf. Sheppard will have to wait his turn. If Sheppard or Cam forces their way into the lineup flip Brogdon or buy him out.
As it currently stands, we’ve got one open spot on the 15-man roster, and two 2-way contracts left. Seems like some adjustments will need to be made. Sengun/Adams/Landale Bari/Amen/Jeff Green Brooks/Tari/Cam/Tate/AJ Griffin Jalen FVV/Sheppard 2-way: Dante
I didn’t calculate it but it looks like Brogdon would eat up all the backup PG/SG minutes Amen and Cam were going to get. So the minutes we’re creating is marginal here right? We kind of opened 30 minutes at starting SF and lost 32 minutes at backup guard positions. Seems we’re just changing Cam and Amens position rather than creating minutes. Would love to see the minutes distribution you find ideal.
https://www.nytimes.com/athletic/55...l-george-warriors-klay-thompson-kevin-durant/ The Rockets and their perpetual star hunt If the only Houston Rockets basketball you watched last season was in March, then you might have fancied them a title contender. They won 13 of 14 games from March 2 to March 29 under first-year coach Ime Udoka, with 22-year-old guard Jalen Green starring (28.9 points, 6.3 rebounds and 3.9 assists per game), veteran point guard Fred VanVleet leading (24.4 points, 5.4 assists) and youngsters Amen Thompson (who is 21) and Jabari Smith Jr. (also 21) blossoming along the way. The Rockets stumbled at the end, losing six of their last nine games to miss out on a Play-In berth. But the stretch, which took place mostly without rising star center Alperen Şengün (also 21) because of a Grade 3 ankle sprain that ended his season, was a clear sign of progress in their youth-infused program. Even before then, as The Athletic reported in late January, it was clear the Rockets were on the lookout for a major upgrade to their core. They were, and are, in the star-hunting business (again). Yet for all the recent focus on 35-year-old Phoenix Suns star Kevin Durant, league sources say the Rockets are only interested in star players whose timelines fit better with their young core. This much was clear last summer, when the Rockets chose against a reunion with a 34-year-old Harden despite his interest in returning to Houston. The same logic, league sources said, applies in the case of Durant. For good measure, Suns owner Mat Ishbia issued a public statement on Thursday indicating that Durant isn’t going anywhere. So, who are the Rockets interested in as franchise centerpiece material? League sources say that Cleveland’s Donovan Mitchell (who is 27 and widely expected to sign an extension with the Cavs soon), the Suns’ Devin Booker (also 27) and New Orleans’ Zion Williamson (23) would all fit the bill. The only problem, of course, is that none of them are expected to be available anytime soon.
My hope is that Zion is not ever available for the Rockets. What a stupid move that would be. The young man is talented, but he refuses to stay in top shape and his career has been riddled with injuries. He is just not reliable to be on the court.
Sengun proved last season that he deserved to get paid regardless of what his doubters think. His play led to winning even though he seemed to wear out a bit by midseason. Hopefully he comes in even better shape this season because we are about to take off. This team has a good mix of veteran leadership and young talent that is led by a good coach. Sengun may not be extended this season for cap reasons next season, but he needs to get paid.
I’m ready to go to battle with what we got. A booker or whoever comes available great. If not, the world better get ready for the core six plus reed plus adams plus Eason plus AJ.
Zion for me…simply because I feel like spida isn’t going anywhere and neither is Booker Zion would be the one And it would cost Sengun unfortunately The pels have already threw it out there they want Sengun when the Ingram news was reported but we turned it down but for Zion we might play ball
