Of course Bush has gotten a pass. Every single thing he sold us on Iraq was false. He's never gotten hit on any of it. Not on ANY of it. Every problem's apparently somebody else's fault and nobody from the press ever says, wait a minute, aren't you the president? It is crazy what a pass he's gotten. Plus: He trots out a "Clean Air" Act that's all about rewarding polluters. No hit. "Clean Water." Same. "No Child Left Behind" goes unfunded, leaving children behind. No hit. "Uniter, not divider." We're more divided than ever. He campaigned on a "humble foreign policy" that was anti-intervention and anti-nation building. We now have the least humble, most pro-intervention, pro-nation building president in modern times. He hasn't been hit on any of it. Anti-big government and yet has somehow presided over the biggest government in our nation's history. He also doesn't get hit hard (by the media) over the largest deficit in our nation's history or the largest relative job losses since Herbert Hoover. And yeah, Plame too. Nothing. He's off that stuff scott free. Nothing. But worse than any of that, more than half of Americans believe that Iraq had something to do with 9/11. Where do you figure they got that idea? Every single time Bush talks Iraq, he talks 9/11, even though he and Powell (though not Cheney - darn, he's stubborn) have been forced to admit, more than once, that there is no connection whatsoever. And even after admitting it, he continues to sell the connection. And the media has NEVER hit him on it. George W. Bush has had the easiest ride, with regard to the media, of any modern president. I defy anyone to prove otherwise.
October suprise/bumper sticker I saw today! Speaking in San Francisco John Ashcroft admits he's a Gay American!
