I hope we draft Bronny. It would make next season the most enjoyable one in a while.

    I think he'll surprise many.

Made a big mistake in his choice of league to play in pre-draft. Having said that, he got the the first round, so maybe not?

I'll just say this... You can't push the "Draft Clingan and the Rockets might be looking to trade Alperen" agenda without the inverse being equally as plausible.

The Rockets passing on Donovan Clingan is a vote of confidence towards Alperen Sengun. He needs to take another step to be truly special, but when has he not?

I think there are only 58 picks this year.

    or maybe that's the joke?

All teams scouted hard and got the number one guy on their board. @sirjesse

I also think it shows they may not be 100% on Jalen being The Guy. Reed is kind of an undersized shooting guard and I don't love the fit with him and Green. I'd go so far as to say we should try to minimize the number of minutes they play together.

Not to say I necessarily think they're giving up on Jalen, but the reason it feels like such a good fit, IMO, is that he provides insurance for Jalen not working out or Amen ultimately not being a point guard. And, if both of those guys do end up as originally envisioned, Sheppard can still get 25+ minutes off the bench backing them both up.

Conceptually, he is a sublime fit with Amen, who is probably the organization's favorite player.

What could Stone do to steal Flip with the first pick of the second round?

I hope we draft Shead at 44. Small miracle if he’s still available at 44, but one can hope.

I think RS can play with either Green or Amen thats part of his allure. Green is a penetrator and slashing creator both him and RS fit just fine.

The one hurt by this is actually FVV. Cant see him being here now long term.

I don't think he provides insurance for Jalen, he does fill in the need for a backup PG with a good jumper. Amen can be a point forward/ defender. He obviously needs to work on his jumper.

I'm more thinking about the defensive end when I say I don't think Jalen and Reed are a great fit together--I think they'd both be hunted by the opposing team's best perimeter player. But I'm probably lower on both of them defensively than a lot of people here, admittedly. I think they'll both end up in the vicinity of "average" on the defensive end. Not a total liability, but definitely the guys you most need to hide, and it's hard to have two of those guys on the court at the same time in the playoffs.

Wingspan shorter than his height and poor combine results hurt him badly.

He isn't a 1st round pick anymore but this was interesting

Olynyk and Plumlee have both carved out solid NBA careers

Interesting. That means FVV's time is limited. Sengun will likely be locked up. Green is still a question mark, as Whittmore can slide into his minutes pretty cheaply. 52% 3 point shooting is hard to argue with. So, future starting 5 of Sheppard/Green/Brooks/Thompson/Sengun with Whittmore as 6th man looks possibly good.

Jalen Green has been awesome defensively last year, he was defending even PFs to some moderate success. He is already average at worst.

You are right though I expect RS to get hunted on defense but he should still be better than guys like Rob D, Jared Mccain and Aaron Holiday so it may not be all bad.

    We got Reed Sheppard.

I always thought if we drafted Clingan, it would be to trade him for future assets, tbh, so they were probably trying to hype his stock up a bit so someone would bite, but who knows. Of course, then that would mean we were ok not getting Sheppard. lol.
