I think Kerry might pull through. I think he finally has Bush in a bind now. The Swifties thing has run its course and has fired up those who still believe our involvement in Vietnam was the best thing since sliced bread, but they aren't the majority. The only possible way to make things look more like a success in Iraq, and a victory on terror, before the election is a massive American attack on the Iraqi rebels, which could suppress them for a while. If this is done the number of American casualties will jump up and it will make Bush's happy talk on Iraq look weaker and more and more divorced from reality. Of course we have our appointed CIA guy, Allawi, parading around Washington and are calling him "prime minister", but this type of spin can only go so far. We can expect another Swiftie type negatiive ad campaign by the Bush campaign before the election and depending on the effectiveness, you know it will be viciious, it could distract from the issues and help Bush.
