    About 30 years ago, Cuban sold out to Yahoo! right before the dot-com bubble popped and made out like a thief and a bandit. It's actually a famously bad transaction that blew a hole in Yahoo and was part of its collapse. (Most folks here are too young to remember when Yahoo! was hot).

    Then he paid $285 million for a chunk of the Mavs and sold it for $3.5 billion.

    I'm exaggerating some when I say this, but he basically won the lottery, went to Vegas and dumped a huge amount of the proceeds into one huge bet against the house and won again.

    Mark Cuban has nothing else to do but smile.
